This is indeed great news. I'd like to try PfPaint, but can't ATM as you need a graphics card. I'd like to use it instead of Deluxe Paint 5. The author managed to import a 256 colour anim made with it, into AnimatED.

@MikeB
Thanks for the posting this news item.

@Blackbird
This is wonderful information and thanks for taking the time to give us an update on your effort.

I used Deluxe Paint 4.2 (or close to that) with ADPro, the BlackBelt program and TV Paint (swoon)! TV Paint was big bucks for me back then but what a program that was.

Never used PerfectPaint but is looks good, animation too, very nice!

Personal Paint 7.1 for AmigaOS 4.0

Seattle, WA - January 6, 2004 - Amiga Inc. and Cloanto are delighted to announce that Personal Paint 7.1 will be available on the upcoming AmigaOS 4.0 operating system.

I haven't heard anything since it was announced though...

I believe an OS4 version of Art Effect was also announced IIRC.

Me too, I hope I get to use Perfect paint one day.

It's a shame it's not in development any more. I spoke to the author and he added some new features in my request. You can now merge the spare page either in front of, or behind, the main image, or animation frames. You could use that to drop in a background for an animation, or superimpose titles over it.

Also, the most anim frames Perfect paint allowed was 999, while Deluxe paint 5 allows 9,999. Now though, you can choose the maximum number of frames at startup.

Try it, you might like it. It's supposed to be the closest thing to a modern Dpaint we can get!
