| We definitely need to be told if Troika's board will be running OS4, Linux, or nothing at all: Raising expectations too high, before being disappointed, will just start more Troika-bashing. (And of course some kind of explanation of why it is(n't) running would be helpful.) _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. | PCB-form can mean nothing but a mockup. They wouldn't use that term if it was running/finished. So expect to just see a green PCB with the memory and northbridge they ordered a year ago and you won't be dissapointed. |

| I agree that the wording is a bit fishy, but it depends who said it. If it's Bobson, it could be just a simple wording issue. If it's direct from Troika (as in Bobson cut'n'pasted it from an email), then it really does sound like Troika are tiptoeing around something - why not just say "a motherboard"? I think you're right, and what will be shown will be a bare or otherwise non-functional PCB. Well, if nothing else it will indicate that some sort of progress is happening.
I expect several high def pictures will be taken of this PCB, followed by extended comparisons with existing hardware (just in case, y'know, it's a Pegasos with the chips taken out ) |

| If they haven't got it running *anything* (which I agree sounds likely), then I really hope they will have some kind of explanation of what it represents. Just dumping a non-working (as far as we will see) prototype infront of us, without any explanation of what stage of development it represents, would not be an improvement over what we already know. They've already tried giving us snippets of cryptic information to drool over, and that back-fired pretty badly IMHO. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black.
