@ Oppressor

We live in a democratic society, so why shouldn't the members be allowed to choose the moderators? Does the Queen of Britian choose her members of parliament?

You don't seem to live in a democratic society if you think that a queen has anything to do with it.

I read his comment as saying the Queen does not choose her members of parliament.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I know I'm probably going to break one rule of the TOS here (do not question moderator decisions, or something like that), but that rule isn't democratic in the slightest, and since what you're after is democracy, here I am making one simple question which you're then free to ignore or answer to, your choice. Consider this thread is all about moderation, though.

Exactly what rules of the TOS has Oppressor broken since your last "warning"? I've seen him openly discussig an issue, with a polite tone, simply stating his right to debate, nothing else than just that. My guess is that someone just can't handle different opinions and files abuse reports, but those abuse reports should

  1. be motivated - which isn't possible, at the moment

  2. checked by the moderators staff against the TOS, to see whether they have a basis or not.

  3. I'd go even as far as to suggest that abuse reports which have no basis should be discouraged by filing an abuse report against the people that abuse of the abuse report functionality.

Those should be the "3 golden rules" to set things straight and democratic, imho. As it is now, the situation is unbalanced in favour of the people making abuse reports and the moderators who take those abuse reports as the sole means to decide whether someone should be banned or not.

I'd also like to stress that abuse reports don't seem to work for everyone. Not for me, at least: the few times I've used it, no action has been taken upon the person I filed an abuse report about, not even when that person was explicitely insulting me or some other people.

@Falemagn

I'll send you a PM, let's not discuss further in this thread to avoid further misunderstandings.
