The latest nightly build of YAM (18/11/06), finally has a working Spam Filter!
From the Release Notes:

Revision 2426 - (download) (annotate) Fri Nov 17 22:25:56 2006 UTC (17 hours, 59 minutes ago) by thboeckel File size: 349677 byte(s) * misc: Too many changes to list each of them, but finally YAM got a working spam filter!! |
Before you download it, please read the Warning Notice CAREFULLY.
It is still a developer version and as such has some "features" that should be considered carefully, but hey, it's nice to see such a modern feature in an Amiga mailer. |

| I don't use spam filters at all (if not only for few mails from my ISP), I prefer using different email addresses, but still that feature is welcome. _________________ AmigaOne XE - AmigaOS 4.1 - Freescale 7457 1GHz - 1GB ram

That's cool, I have a bit more confidence knowing that it has a tried and tested system behind it. It seems to be working quite well here, although I haven't received anywhere near enough email to tax it (my email goes through up to three server-side spam filters as it is - I'm only using the YAM one to catch the dregs) _________________ "Miracles we do at once, the impossible takes a little longer" - AJS on Hyperion Avatar is Tabitha by Eric W Schwartz

| Yes, it is learning/self adjusting.
And yes, YAM now has one single built-in filter, which moves mails recognized as spam to the spam folder. This additional filter is invisible, because it is not editable. _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

| Some changes, which didn't show up on my development system, broke the automatic nightly build process. Unfortunately Jens was not at home this weekend, so he could not fix it immediately.
I just checked the builds created last night, and now all versions are available again. So, please go ahead and test YAM's new features, if you are brave enough _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

I miss it too, and also separate task for message transfer. _________________ I miss draggable screens in MorphOS... and do you? I know I'm in a minority unfortunately.
