Uhm.. what a nice analogy.

As someone put it nicely on Amiga.org: "In 3 years, we'll probably have more Amiga community portals than users."

@Mikey_C

There is no vendetta against Total Amiga, only some blatant irony that was pointed out by Bodie_CI5, redrumloa, BenMatthew, Aminice and me which was solely directed at you and your previous vendetta against AW.net. Stop making things up and relax a bit.

I'm interested in all the Amiga related hardware and software: MorphOS, Aros, classic and OS4 so I'm happy to read something about the Efika ! At last PPC hardware that is for sale.

Also some time ago, the editor of TAM responded quickly to my questions of my subscription and arranged a new one, great ! I'm looking forward to receive this new issue ASAP !

@Everybody pointing out the irony
Now how about doing something positive for our community (for a change) and writing an article for Total Amiga for whatever platform you are a fan of?

I hope you don't mean my coment. My sarcasm should be very plain to see and it has nothing to do with an Efika article in TA. PM me if you need further explaination.

Personally I'll be quite grateful for the EFIKA review when my mag arrives...
I am possibly going to buy one sometime after xmas... so it'll be nice to see a review of it.

Hmm.. Which reminds me.. I really should build that ppc amiga some time.. lol.. (Got a BPPC and misc bits in a cupboard waiting to be built up... been there since about June...)

To avoid disappointing anyone, the Efika item is not a review; it is a news feature. We (Total Amiga) have not seen the hardware. Once MorphOS is available for Efika we would be happy to run a review assuming we can find someone to write one (or if we were loaned a board to review in-house).

@rhino

just to clarify my position; I think Total Amiga is a good read and should contain anything and everything amiga and amiga-related. I've enjoyed reading it and it's remarkable that you guys find the time and inclination to make it.

Quite why so many people misread the blatant sarcasm made by a few of us at the beginning of this thread is well, frankly, a trifle disappointing.

Oh please, don't stop. I appreciate every ounce of effort you guys put into this mag. I look forward to each issue. I like to read about all that is happening on both sides of this widening ditch some people are digging. I am Amiga through and through and will stay that way. Even so, I like to know what others are up to.

From what I've seen, it seems easy for forum regulars to forget that there are visitors to this and other Amiga sites who don't closely follow every thread (perhaps, dare I say it, because they are supporting the Amiga community in more constructive ways). These people therefore don't have the background information to put comments like those at the start of this thread into context. I would also point out that none of the initial posts had even a single smiley of any kind to indicate they might not be entirely serious.

I am a regular visitor to Amigaworld but I avoid threads which are obvious flame fests and don't participate in IRC. I didn't get the "irony" that was being pointed out by these comments (I guessed they were sarcastic but wasn't sure why). I'm sure that some less regular readers than me would view these comments as relating straightforwardly to Total Amiga.

BTW, thanks to everyone who posted messages of support, it's much appreciated.

Robert

Have calmed down now, thank you to all those with positive attitudes and support for the magazine.

@Rhino

Point taken. I did go as far as to add an extra comment to highlight my own take on matters but perhaps I should have clarified that the "irony" was a remark about the audasciousness of the original post/poster and not a criticism of TA.

Anyway life's too short for this kind of thing, nuff said I think.
