Issaquah, Wash USA – Gloucestershire, UK May 23, 2007 – Vulcan Software Limited and Amiga, Inc. are pleased to announce the launch and availability of Vulcan Software titles for Windows PC’s via the new Amiga Classic Game Player.

“The new Amiga offering makes playing these very fun titles simple. Just click and you are playing. It is great to be working with Amiga again, and our relationship will be growing into other areas as well”, said Paul Carrington President of Vulcan Software Limited

With the new Amiga Classic Game Player a customer need only to select the game they want to play, download it to their computer, install, click and play. It is seamless fun, and reminds everyone of why we started using computers for gaming to begin with.

Amiga will continue to offer new titles and other Amiga Classic offerings, from the 80’s through the 90’s, and will offer these great titles initially for the PC and then will begin to expand other devices.

“It has been great working with Paul at Vulcan and this is the first product that is available from our new relationship.” Said Bill McEwen, Amiga, Inc. “There are several other areas that Amiga and Vulcan are in discussions about, and we look forward on delivering new products and experiences for our customers very soon.”

See here to buy the games... why don't they link to this?

Will buy Hillsea Lido tomorrow, that game used to crack me up and $5 is a bit of a bargain. Looking forward to see exactly how this Amiga Classic player works...

I don’t understand really why this news item reached AmigaWorld.

Just because it was on a.org also?

Or just because Ainc’s name is involved?

Hey, maybe we should have made another news item considering this product http://magnussoft.de/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/137?osCsid=d8e6340c73b68a5088e491fe6e638ec5

That's the problem with these press releases.

A 'normal' customer doesn't need to know that - just that it works. It must be based on WinUAE though.

It is a great idea but should have been done years ago when Amino first started.

Why has it taken them this long? They could have had the highpoints of the Amiga back-catalogue on mobile phones by now and that might well have helped Amiga Anywhere.

Well ...

... the original copyright holder must be found
... must still exist
... must respond even if reads "amiga" in the communication
... must still be somewhat interested in "amiga"
... must still possess working source and/or binary to their games
... must manage to come to an agreement with amiga

This is AmigaWorld. Everything Amiga
fits on this website. WinUAE and Amiga
Inc. are definitely Amiga related.

Amiga yet again living in the past, rather than looking to the future.
Very sad really.

My first thought was that there is "new juice" to AI. Yes be new games for os4! (And get Iban-codes so we actually could by them)

Aimiga Inc don't have to pretend to be active, buying the Indian company, developing and selling products from its website is ample evidence of being 'active'.

Developing? Any examples of products they are selling that *they* have developed, as opposed to having licensed them from others?

$5 well spent.

Download was small (1.4meg), Installation is straight-forward and Hillsea Lido is still ace!

The installer only installed a single file (HillseaLido.exe) and a separate savefile was created when the game was run.

Loading time is non-existent, but the game only runs full screen and there's no filtering options to make it look less blocky on this 19" TFT.

Well, it's at least an improvement compared to their cr*ppy tic-tac-toe and casino games, which they didn't even code themselves.
Ok, it's just Winuae, but the price is right for some impulse buyers.
