Hardware News   Hardware News : NatAmi!!

NatAmi board prototype now being manufactured

Thomas has finished the hardware-design! We now have to wait for the 1st board getting produced, which will hopefully be before our announced deadline "end of summer 2008"!

What to expect when the PCB is there? At this point Thomas will start the bring up. We surely can and will bring many more news and pictures!

Maybe the next version could have a video slot and one Zorro II slot please so the Video Toaster 4000 card and the Flyer card can be used with it.

As an Amiga game developer I was dying to buy this when it was first announced.

However...

None of my requested features was implemented nor any reason given why they should not be implemented.

So now I cannot justify purchasing one.

Good luck to you in your endeavor.

@ChaosLord

Don't worry, the dev board will be configurable enough to add features to it. Do you have a link to the post where you made all of your suggestions?

@thread
BigGun also said in a post on the Natami website that there is a 1:1 hardware acceleration feature for every function of the SDL libraries so he is working on a custom hardware-banging version of SDL for the Natami as well as a custom Kickstart.

My "Features that benefit 2D games" requests were made many months ago in a large series of emails to BigGun/Gunnar/MegaGun/HyperGun/UltraGun

Remember back when I called you on the phone and I was like "WOW! NatAmiga sounds awesome!" and you were like talking about trinary spline parser trees or somesuch? That is when it was.

thats great.

maybe this new board will be showed on next amiga events, during autumn, for example.

verry interesting to see is an enhanced amiga with 60860-90 mhz will change, to very best , all the feeling a user have with an amiga classic.

EDIT: Actually Google Images finds pretty interesting pictures of NatAmi as well, I guess
