oh and btw: to anyone wanting an amiga laptop:
the limebook is a ppc laptop (albeit tiny).
So lets see a bounty for hyperion to support the 5121e. wouldn't that be neat? I'll chip in 200 USD. as long as I don't need to organise anything

I would be interested in getting this also as long as OS4 runs on it.

@Moxee and olegil

I don't think Hyperion accepts bounty work though. Its kind of hard to justify accepting a bounty and then selling the object of the bounty as a commercial product.

I tried to have an AROS bounty for Limebook made, but they (Power2People) were hesitant to accept it, as additionally the only known two units available outside of China as near as anyone could tell are the two meet.mrnrg was selling, one of which is already in someone else's hands.

Unless, as was suggested as before, meet.mrnrg negotiates a port to his Lime wares with Hyperion directly, any chance of a AOS port is nil, it seems.

On the plus side, if he can get more PPC Limebooks here and at a reasonable price (even he dropped his price from $500 to $410 to $328 already), say $200 something each, then maybe we can re-approach Power2People about an AROS Limebook bounty. (This is conjecture on my part, my point being if this kind of status could be achieved I would think there would no longer exist the original reason for them to be hesitant in making the bounty). As promised before I'd throw some money at such a bounty.

I would buy a LimeBook (any notebook priced below EUR 800 would be interesting) with OS4 the moment it was released but I doubt it going to happen.

Regarding TryTerra announcing a online shop with various amiga and non amiga items I don't find that to be unreasonable or any different than many other news here.

Any new Amiga shop is welcome in my opinion and no one is forced to buy from TryTerra

@ fairlanefastback

There is a huge desire for an Amiga notebook/laptop. The powers that be need to make this happen! Like yesterday!

Yeah, I agree. My money so far though is on MOS getting there first. Totally just a gut feeling, but with them working on Mac Mini I would suspect a similar era G4 Apple laptop might not be such a stretch to do at that point.

My feeling is Hyperion would want to go to a netbook that is available new which is going to require either a platform change (like ARM), or them cooking up something with someone like Acube for a new PPC platform.

Are you an authorized reseller? You are not listed on ACube's reseller page!

I am an entry level seller, so yet to reach the target volume sales required to be a true Authorized Reseller.

Having said that, I am no different than other sellers, and I am running the store part time.
eBay takes a FINAL SALE FEE for each item anyway, but has excellent services in its account, which I like for now!

Hey, at least this seller is a gold supporter for this forum. How well does UAE run a LimePC btw?
Perhaps the nice people who wrote UAE would allow you to bundle it in, preinstalled if you ask them, maybe even Amikit. If (emphasis on the If) a company sold a nice ppc machine that had a decent 3.9 setup pre-done and a reasonable chance of it getting OS4 as well they might get some interest.
TBH I don't have a problem with this article, no worse then any other ad I've seen here.

@Tripitaka

thanks for the kinds words.
I did get an experimental build up and running on LimeBook Freescale PPC chips.
It emulates and can do WorkBench just fine.
Anything else really needs the PPC JIT who's bounty needs support at AmigaBounty.com
