RAGEMEM v0.37 results: --- VIDEO BUS --- Before any patches: READ: 14 MB/Sec WRITE: 50 MB/Sec Before this patch (1.1): READ: 29 MB/Sec WRITE: 63 MB/Sec After this patch (1.2): READ: 41 MB/Sec WRITE: 63 MB/Sec |
same results for me too...impressive results compared to original ones _________________ ____________________________ c64-2sids, A1000, A1200T-060@50(finally working!),A4000-CSMKIII ! My Master Miggies- Amiga 1000 & AmigaOne X1000 ! mancave-ramblings X1000 I BELIEVE

Hope Acube will improve more this patch. Maybe with 60-80mo/s, we could play all DVD without frameskip. |
DVD is only about write speed to the video RAM. That is already 63MB/s. However, since a normal 32-bit 33MHz PCI port theoretically can handle 133MB/s, perhaps something still can be done.
The biggest bottle-neck would be the lack of L2 cache though I believe. Higher RAM read speeds would help a lot here. Don't know if that could be tweaked like how SetA1 does it for for the AmigaOnes..? _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| For sure
Why you said that ? (a futur update actually in betatest ?) For sure 120 is enough, hum, read AND write
@Deniil715
Each time new patch, DVplayer skip less frame than before, Deniil715 (a little each time).
Between 1.1 and 1.2, only read has been improved and for the DVplayer tests I have made with patch 1.2, less frameskip.
for sure, a new dvplayer and avcodec.library will help also to have less frameskip. Last edited by Mrodfr on 13-Feb-2011 at 12:23 PM. Last edited by Mrodfr on 13-Feb-2011 at 12:22 PM.

from the original 14MB to 41MB that's basically +300% |
You're wrong by some 33.33% here From 14 to 42 is a factor of 3, so +2 only, which in %% is 'ony' 200%. Still not bad!
