Well, you brought it up... Check out The largest scandal in human history. According to the Duelfer report, Saddam was using this stolen money to buy (not build) weapons systems from foreign governments. Clever slight of hand the entire world missed.

Yawn.....more fanfare over pictures of yet unreleased hardware.......will you guys never learn? And besides, why get all wound up over 2003 technology at 2020 prices? Go a buy a SAM now at a reasonable price.

Well, judging by promised performance (dual core x 2 Ghz + XMOS)
AmigaOne X1000 should be at "SAM price range", even CPU was released 2006.

But first lets have it released!

you tell me that? it just isnt a very lucky joke imo.

@jingof
saddam was an a**hole no doubt, though i do not see anything in your link that contradicts the proven fact, that the claim about iraqi possesing or building weapons of mass destruction was (allow me to say) an outright lie to justify the intervention. therefore i hope the comparison drawn here is not accurate.

@Vox and ferrels

PA6T was released in 2007. X1000 is 2007 technology (Dual core 64 bit CPU, SATA2, DDR2 etc.).

Then the price must turn out to be very attractive as over time it has been proven that performance goes up and price goes down, especially in computerland. So 'poor' performance at very low price sounds good to me. Trevor, count me in, please!

I really come to love all them Moaning Minnies.

Not the right place to debate it, but you are dead wrong. If you want more evidence to dispute your "Bush lied" claim, you're welcome to open a thread in Free For All.

Gregthecanuck

Did you forget to take your meds the day you posted that or what?

I never said X1000 didnt exsist, I was asking for screenshots of OS4 running on it (which naturally still not have appeared)

I'm happy for Aeon though, lets hear from the betatesters when they get their boards please.

It was posted in good fun - glad you took it that way!

Some others seem to have checked their sense of humour at the door.

A-eon page, media section, the first two images are screenshots of OS4 running on the X1000.

Triple Z in Germany on 24th July 2010 Speed Demo

Vintage Computer Festival, June 2010 Trevor speaks about the X1000

In all of these images/videos, the AmigaOS4 can be seen running on the machine, and these are almost a year old, one may think that it should be fairly advanced by now, something that you wouldn't notice on a workbench static shot.

So your claim of no OS4 Shots is fairly innacurate to say the least.

Someone has vandalized the Wikipedia page on X1000 !!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmigaOne_X1000

It claims its a scam ......

Found the link via Hexus

http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=31385

A somewhat big hardware site (??)
Someone should get the Wikipedia updated so potential buyers dont get confused.........

Just edited out the funny man's comments about it being a scam. Too bad idiots have to power to add factually incorrect statements to Wikipedia thereby greatly reducing its trustworthyness...

@jingof

OT:
the "evidence"
and then WMD were moved to North Korea via Iran and then, after Kim Jong-il took appropriate fee, they went to China. USA fears China so they won't attack this communist country yet, not before the Tea Party establish Christian Fundamentalism as the main and only religion in USA.
...eeeh...
