software OS4   software OS4 : Atheros 54Mbps wireless driver for OS4
posted by ncafferkey on 28-May-2013 9:22:46 (6630 reads)
A driver for Atheros AR5000-series 54Mbps 802.11g wireless PCI cards has been released for AmigaOS 4. It supports WPA/WPA2 encryption (as well as WEP), and is available for free on Aminet. PCI-Express cards may also work but are untested. (Please click read more.)

Versions of the driver are already distributed with AROS and MorphOS, but it is unlikely to become available for AmigaOS 3 because of DMA requirements.

I need for the USB wireless cards, but in these case the drivers will be the big problem

I'm ordering some Atheros cards to experiment with. HP AR5b95 (PCIe) and AR5005G (PCI). Need to find my stash of mini to desktop adapters now....

No luck
"Could not open "atheros.device" unit 0 (Device/unit failed to open)"

it was stated as "Maybe" working.
Not for me

I got my Wlan Card today, does not work.

Abit WiFi-Card, PCI-e 1x (would try it in the mini pcie in Sam460).

Any chances to get pcie 1x Cards to work?

I have one of These here and would send it the developer to try if wanted.

There appears to be a problem with 802.11n-capable cards. I don't know if there are any PCIe cards that are 802.11g/b/a only.

Thanks, but I have an 802.11n-capable PCI card to test with, so it probably wouldn't be an advantage to have a PCIe card (and I don't have a machine with a PCIe slot anyway).
