Naaah!
I guess they only wanted to congrats for this great achievement.
I agree that it may looks like the wrong choice of words, but I don't think they meant anything bad about it.
After all, they have been using Designers for their professional presentations for years and they are big Hollywood fans.

| One of my first things with HW should be to try to build some benchmark that roughly tests CPU performance and 3D, to get simple and quick results on every compatible platform.
Perhaps there is already such benchmark?
btw. is hollywood able to use multiple cores on linux etc.? _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer?

Hordes of avid 3D programmers are now expected to flood the market with tons of awesome 3D applications ...

Maybe not, but at least one 2D programmer has now a chance to try. Myself!

It was a bit ironic comment, in the sense that 3D requires solid skills and maybe not all here are aware of this ... of course these are good news.
Waiting for your 3D productions then

| Hollywood version 6 now uses a plug-in system for different graphics drivers so the bridge between Hollywood's internal 2D graphics is improved by this also on 3D accelerated platforms.
Amiga chipset drivers also become possible with the development of the plug-in system, however I doubt that Andreas will spend much time on them right now. Most platforms can't emulate Amiga graphics any better than 68k Amigas can emulate 24-bit capable PCs without a graphics card! |

| Yes Massi,
I know it was ironic, that's why I turned it on myself since I already know that I have a VERY, VERY LONG way ahead of me.
I don't have any 3D skills at all, but I do hope to see something coming out from other (and for sure much better) coders.

| All credit to Airsoft.
They just keep plugging away with no fanfare, and this is just another example.
Is there a way to test Hollywod out first? If I recall there was a demo for Windows? I'd like to buy it eventually, but would be nice to have a play around and learn a little in the meantime. |

The demo version was a time-limited Windows-only version. If you're looking for an Amiga demo version, don't hold your breath. |

Yes, thanks. I'm a proud user of Hollywood since v4.0 both on Amiga and Windows.
I actually also have the latest version of the Designer, but I never really used it since I often code on my Win laptop and I find Hollywood IDE very handy.
Thanks for pointing that out anyway.

| @thread This confirms the idea of using Hollywood as a scripting language to make 3D games. I understand that game makers use a scripting language to bind elements together.
