know this has been said frequently before, but we're almost there. I know it's hard, and believe me when I say that I am more than happy when it is finally out of the door.

I can?t agree more.

I thought about adding a "mail bug report to developer", but that would require the mail address of the author to be encoded in the binary... That's possible via ELF note sections, and we might add such a feature later...

That would be very cool. I was thinking of doing it externally asociating an executable name with an address book entry and have that installed by the installer (or manually later if the developer wants only a few beta-testers to send reports. That would require an address book though, and no-one changing the executable name. The ELF notes thing sounds like a V.G. idea!

Now, how about being able to grab the user's screen remotely via the Internet and debugging their problem live?

Should be possible once someone ports VNC

Sounds like a challenge to me! I'll have to poke around and find out who was the last person to port VNC over. I know I saw it on Aminet more than once in the past so it mustn't be too difficult.

So in the future, we'll say

I find this quite amusing now that I think about it, Amiga almost died, i.e. had a visit from The Grim Reaper, but has some how managed to escape. Now Amiga programs get the same opportunity

Switching to nitpick mode:

The one thing I am not keen is the button in picture 3 the one that says, "Generate Stack Trace". I mean does it really need to be that big?!

Sorry just had to say it!

Very, very nice indeed...glad to see they've paid some serious attention to error handling, the Grim Reaper sure looks like a step up from the WarpOS crash window. Apart from that, I find my self staring at the beautiful anti-aliased text...

Can' wait, can't wait, can't wait...

This will probably change. The "Generate Stacktrace" button will, once the stacktrace is generated, vanish altogether, since it is not needed anymore.

It's all still in the making you know

@rouge

Hehe

That is cool, it is just that I saw that HUGE button and thought EEK!

Gemini

On a different note, I have just been given one of those natural keyboards (no not a Microsoft one!) and it is really great! I am almost touch typing!

This is going to be so useful for us developers. To think this is part of the OS!

Looking forward to this!

What can i say Rogue (and co.)... I'm going to purposely write buggy software to bring up The Grim Reaper because it's just looking that cool. :)

I told you guys when the August issue of CAM came out that there would be "Grim Reaper jokes". I think it's kinda cool. "Grim Reaper axed the Guru"....

And sorry for getting your name wrong

What exactly does 'kill' do anyway? Will it kill the task and free its resources or is it more a suspend/ignore option as in pre 4.0.
