Sounds like a Rave, not an Amiga Show!

After all it is an OS4 demo and party.
The OS4 presentation started at 20:05 GMT, about 15:05 EST your time (i think)

just after the bit about changing hard drives the microphone was left on and I could hear people swearing alot!

Mind you it was during someone playing what I believe was a "Backstreet Boys" record - so its understandable...

Typical, someone cuts the stream just before the winner of the microA1 is announced

Arghhh - 3 hours of teeny bop, white noise and stunned silence - and STILL don't know who won

Hi All,
I'm now back in my hotel room after getting back from the Big Bash,

I can tell you that the Amiga board was won in the raffle by amigaworld user DACROW, who also won a T-Shirt in the runner up raffle (lucky buger !) I am also the lucky winner of a runner up T-Shirt, Wahoo, I won something, shame it wasn't the A1, but well you can't win 'em all.

My personal opinion is that the event went very well, it was a good social event, with an OS4 demo thrown in for good measure.

As for the web-cast, it seems the link was lost later on, personally I think it was a miracle that it worked at all, a wireless link-up between The Editor's house, and repeater in Juassic Campers van, and an access point at the event, it worked well for a while, then we hit some technical problems and the link was lost, unfortunately by the time we found the cause of the problem, it was too late, remember this was a LIVE event, and things sometimes go wrong. It did not help that a power supply blew in one of the PC's being used for the webcast, this machine had to be replaced, which delayed the start a little.

I will have some video footage in the next few days, which I will upload to my website as usual, I'll announce it on Amigaworld once it's done.

Right, it's 1:25 in the morning, so I'm off to get some sleep before the drive home tomorrow morning.

The music may have not always agreed with my tastes but I wanted to thank everyone involved with the broadcast. I enjoyed hearing what was broadcast of the presentation and I give all the credit in the world to those involved in the planning of it as well as the broadcasting, these things are a lot more work than they appear to be on the surface.

For all that is said that is negative about the Amiga community sometimes I think it's pretty fantastic that shows like this and AmiWest are broadcast for free and that people like AmigaOne Productions take the time and effort to make sure the videos are released free of charge to all who would like to view them. Thanks very much.

From: 192.168.0.02 ..Pederburgh .. Iceni

Good Morning Peeps.

thanks Paul for your description of the Event.

I will post a thread explaining everything from my point of view later ...

Its 08:50 on Sunday morning atm. I've gotta take Melissa horse riding in a minute ... Deliver Mr split trousers and beer on head his forgotten SCSI CDROM drive before he (clue) buggers off back to WALES without it !!

It was my wifes pc that blew ... We were performing open heart surgery on it to get a wireless lan card in it !!

I had to run home and acquisition Melissa's pc, Legging it down the street with her full size tower in arms.
It worked .. Although poor old Mikey_C never had ANY shoutcast software on it OR any songs !!

Jurassic was ripping and lanning over to Mikey as he was playing ( and Os4 on Carls A1 never crashed once).

Great seeing all those Peeps and Glad you made it Daz (Skyraker), Thats a sweet car you got. We will return the favour and attend one of your North Midlands Bash's in the future.

Laterz

Paul

(got LOTS of people to thank for the Sterling effort they put in.)

Overall it was a success, we had 50 to 69 concurrent listeners for most of the show.
