Is this a Picasso96 feature?
Hmm... I remember back then (1996 ?) when Picasso96 was introduced a german magazine wrote something about planed multiscreen support.Last edited by Giovanni on 29-Jul-2005 at 02:44 AM.

Great report! I truly enjoyed reading such a detailed report. Though most stuff has been around in a couple of threads. This was good enough to be printed even _________________ /Harry

How is the Access the rarest? I have an Access, Toaks has an Access, there was an Access at AmiGBG, that's like a bunch of them!
First time I ever saw a DraCo, though _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). | great show report! very informative! though, its a little unsettling that Hyperion have chosen to experiment in human cloning just to try and get os4 finished faster.. :/
its awesome that the usb gamepad driver is coming along nicely! I cant wait to use that with my a1! and the new sdk should be interesting too. |

its not exactly strange , i use 2 gfx cards in my machine (XE) at all times.
i divide them onto 2 monitors so that for instance i have lightwave up on 1 monitor and amirc/ibrowse up on the other monitor (at same time).
displaychain is the tool type to set in the monitor devs icon.
and i can change screen to lets say...workbench while the other monitor stays at the picture it always has been and so on.
a small note is that i used to do this (i still do though) on my classic with Voodoo 3 and AGA chipset and i also did it when i had a picasso4 and a cv643d + aga.
FPSE and link only needs one cd/cd image and infact the orginal playstation only needed 1 cd too with some swap tricks (boot the game up on one... take out the cd and boot the other up hehe) _________________ See my blog and collection website! . https://www.blog.amigaguru.com

| Hell, the 3D map is quite old that you showed there. Maybe you dont saw all the changes because the visible parts are almost the same. But if you look a bit deeper into the 3d map, you will see more and more changes.
Anyway, nice report!

Thanks, but I did own a Matrox G400 (DualHead) graphics card myself a few years ago. So I am familiar with the possible concepts. But I never heard of any emulators (except for Amithlon at some point) making good use of more than one screen, sounds useful if you have the required hardware. I made a small edit to point out that this was a video of an older version. I will change the link as soon as you upload a more recent demonstration video. |

Since it's basically two emulators running at once, I presume they'd need one cd each - just like two real Playstations. Of course FPSE supports cd images, so you can just make images rather than have two cd drives active at the same time.
As far as I understood it, it was basically two instances of FPSE running at the same time on the same machine. They had a virtual link cable between them and output to two different monitors. I haven't actually tried dual monitor myself on my Amiga (except for pal+vga back in the day), so I'm not sure how it works specifically. I guess P96 just differentiates between monitor one and two and FPSE is able to figure that out |

Well, I certainly know of far more DraCos in various peoples' possession compared to the number of Access machines. But yes, the DraCo is quite a rare beast too
Besides Toaks doesn't really count. He has an original Great Gianna Sisters and Radiant Silver Gun too. He has one of everything |

personally take care of the official bundled hardware support and distribution |

It should be quite a hit on the processor... or is it done mainly by the Graphic board? _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga

Yes, Eyetech has been distributing the hardware to A1 dealers around the world and have been honouring ordinary warranty (failure of operation, compared to the way the product operated at the time of purchase). |

BTW: Nobody really seems to have taken notice, but AmigaInput on USB Gamepads was shown at the AmiGBG the first time. Those PSX Pads Amidog had in use for showing FPSE were run using a USB->PSX Connector, and this was a version of FPSE supporting AmigaInput
There's already a list of supported USB pads/joysticks which is growing longer
Steffen |
Now this is seriously good news (maybe you should make a separate news item from it?)
AmigaInput is one of the most important OS elements to me - playing using keyboard just don't cut it.
Does the AmigaInput support old Amiga joysticks through Catweasel III-IV? Would be nice to play classic Amiga games with E-UAE and Catweasel.
When will the AmigaInput be released to the public? _________________ "Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others." (Groucho Marx)
