Now, uae-sdl 0.8.28 works fine like before, but 0.8.29-WIP1 gives me a DSI error. If I ignore the DSI error, uae-sdl 0.8.29-WIP1 hangs.

You'll get a DSI error with WIP1 if you're using an emulated 32-bit P96 screen. See my post above about the all-new, shiny WIP2 release.

If your problem is with something else, please let me know.

Cheers,
Rich

Or is this a SDL problem?! I compared with the native version as that
was the one I used to use.

Yes. This option isn't supported by the SDL version.

You need to specify your screen size with:
gfx_width_windowed=
gfx_height_windowed=
in your config file (these values are currently used for full-screen mode also). This on the fix list.

You can't specify a screen depth to use with the SDL version, either, at the moment. It'll use whatever depth your desktop uses.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm gradually working on these problems.

Cheers,
Rich

@admin

Perhaps one of the site administrators could update the lead story to mention the WIP2 version? I don't want people downloading the broken WIP1 version.

Cheers,
Rich

@evilrich
I tried yesterday the WP1 (I didn't know about the WP2 version...).
It seemed to be working correctly only in 16 bits Screen mode... Which made my WB really ugly...
Did I read correctly that WP2 now support fully 32Bits Screen modes ? then GREAT !

Thanks for the quick update ! Are you also working on an up-to-date browser ? If yes, we could expect it by the end of this week !

Jerry

@evilrich

Fantastic!! For the first time since I got my µA1 I can play all my
classic games at full speed, including AGA games. Almost everything
is working full speed now. Great work I must say!

You will see a donation coming from me in the near future!

Btw any news regarding a possible JIT?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the update, Rich. The F12 + "g" function still doesn't work, however. Will this vital function ever be implemented in the OS4 version? It's kind of hard to play mouse-driven games without it.

I don't expect to have any time to work on the PPC JIT in the next month or two. Sorry.

The control key sequences begin with Ctrl+Left Alt on AmigaOS hosts (rather than F12). This is because the classic Amiga keyboard doesn't have an F12 key.

So:
Ctrl+LAlt+S = Toggle between windowed and full-screen modes.
Ctrl+LAlt+G = Grab mouse pointer

etc.

Rich

Thanks for the info, Rich. I'd wish I'd known this earlier; it would have saved me a few curse words in the middle of some hot and heavy games. Now on to Megaball. I'll see about getting a donation sent your way. Keep up the good work!

Great stuff! The more the merrier!

How long does it take to get onto the mailing list? Seems that freelist takes longer then Yahoo.

Thanks for the quick update, I now have os3.9 in 24 bit color again.
