Individual Computers have announced today a new run of their popular Catweasel Mk 2 interface for the classic Amigas, as well as a new 68030 based accelerator for the A600.
The complete news story on their products as well as the impact of the RoHS directive and how they are handling that can be found on their website.
My guess is, price ('060s are expensive, around $200 each) and heat output - an '030 outputs very little heat, while an '060 needs active cooling just like a G4. There's not a lot of room in that little case for either a VGA-style cooler or decent airflow; you'd have loads of heat-related problems like chips slowly wiggling out of their sockets like used to happen with A500s and their old NMOS 68000s.

The 060 doesn't actually require active cooling (unlike the 040) because it runs at 3.3V. Still as you say it's really expensive and hard to find. I think the PGA 030 was an excellent choice, still I am surprised Jens has been able to find these CPUs as I thought they were not manufactured anymore. Anyhow, it's good that he did!

The 060 does not require any cooling at all. Just the usual case cooling. It's actually cooler than the 030 even, compared to 030@50MHz anyway. Might be hotter than 030@25MHz though.
Tight spaces like the A1200 case without any cooling might be a different case though. But no 060 turbo card sold for Amigas had any cooling on them. AFAIK!

Questions:
This new T630 accelerator sounds good but I would like to know the following please...
1) Can you replace the 030 with a faster 030 (50MHz) 2) Can you replace it with an 060? (Wrong socket I believe...so maybe not) 3) Can you put an FPU/MMU on this board? 4) Can you have the 1MB chip installed at the same time?
