Looks like you are one of the poor souls who brought the lies hook line and sinker.
The DMA FIX I KNOW WHAT IT IS BECUASE I DO THE MODS FOR IT. The via southbridge spits out hash out at the end of a transfer. By routing it differently you aviod the hash. THE SAME PINS ON THE North bridge ARE USED just routed diferently throught the SB
The sound issue was no sound at all. All that was needed was for someone to figure out how to turn it on as the via docs were wrong.
the FSB issue you mention was a PEG issue not an A1XE issue. The PEG one problems were more becuase of poor design at thendic then the AS.
I tried the same 512 and 1 gig DIMMS that work perfectly in a A1 at 133mhz and the Peg did not work at all with them. Those sticks worked fine together either with matching pair or split 512 and 1 gig in an A1 but the peg would not even boot with one of them.
HMM I use the radeon and onboard sound you want a video showing dvplayer playing four DVDs at once with all four audio tracks going at once to show you that DMA and sound work.
as for BURNIT hello Ambiant is based on MUI so where is the special feature needed in MOS. MOS uses the SAME file systems as the Classic and NG. AOS4 has some newer FS that don't exist in MOS so I don't see it other than a political one.
And Yea most of the screaming is Why did Titan do something as stupid as making software just for MOS.
Titan doesn't make the software. The developers make Burnit and it was developed on a Pegasos with MorphOS. Burnit3 is completly rewritten and has nothing to do with v2 except the name. So I can't tell you if there is any problem for a port to AOS or not or if it just need a bit more work.

Most Amiga Developers will make an optimised version for all OS's or just a straight Amiga version (which runs on all ).
Like those who add small code snippets to their app to make sure it doesn't run with OS4Emu on MorphOS?
I think we should stop this stupid arguement about Articia S. Can we agree that it was a bad chip design and that most of its problems and quirks can be managed through software fixes? Also PEG1 (and SE) had an older version of it which had even more problems the XE and µA1. Most of those problems aren't fixable.
The only problem I know that they have serious problems fixing is the one you mention regarding gfx transfer and sound.
Also regarding the VIA686 problem kgrach is talking about surely only adds problems to an already quirky northbridge. Not a good combination at all.
