No no, you miss the point!!!

68k emulation is not the problem. and we are not talkingabout PPC programs as they are not important for this disscusion.

If the OS has a list of programs/libraries/devices that it executes on the interpreter rather than the JIT, what if someone use a program/library/device that is not on the list, but needs to be for some reason (that Fleecy glossed around, since his reasons were not valid).

@Drebben:

You worry too much. Remember, this is the Amiga we're talking about. If it does work with a list like that, the list will probably be stored somewhere that's user-visible (ENV:, most likely, or maybe L:), it will be in a documented format (some IFF variant or XML) and there will be a prefs program to edit it.

Fleecy probably glossed over it because he doesn't completely know. A better person to ask highly detailed information like that would be one of the Friedens.

@Drebben

Just a possible answer for you.

As far as programs are concerned, there would be a default
value if the loader detects its 68k and there is no metadata to say
"jit" or "interpreted".

As far as libraries are concerned, this is transparent to the user
and as you probably know this is partly due the way AOS handles
functions from libraries that are resident.
