| I have used much older versions of it, and it ran really well. Some things didn't emulate very well, but on the whole most things did, and they ran at a very good rate on my old 030/50, and now 060/50. _________________ Test sig (new)

| FuZion: I recently ported a NES Emulator (FCE Ultra) to OS 4 :) It even supports TCP/IP Gaming (though the OS 4 version does not have this feature included yet... the WOS version which I did some months ago already has it)
FCE does not have a nice GUI like A/NES though, it is shell-based.

| Hi!
A GUI for what ? The OS 4 version for this Emulator??? well, I leave the GUI-making to other people... But be warned, they will have a lot to do if they want to make GUIs for all Emulators I ported to OS 4 (FCE Ultra, SMSPlus, MAME, MESS, gbe, AmiGenerator, tgemu, and snes9x/WarpSNES, though snes9x is not compiling *yet* under OS 4). My MAME port is based on the latest version of MAME from PC, BTW... 0.77.1 and 30 MB sized executable (wow - and yes, that's already a stripped exe, the unstripped one is 32 MB :) )

| Hi!
Well, they are putting more and more stuff into MAME... some stuff I noticed while porting:
- A file named saturn.c ... and when I looked at this (it cannot be a Sega Saturn, can it ?) I noticed it used a CPU Emulation called "SH2"... wow... it IS a Sega Saturn Emulation... it is just not yet working, but they are working on it :) - Next was "psx.c". And it was what it sounded like... but I think also not yet working... - The file voodoo.c is really a Voodoo Emulation... pretty cool, that they emulate 3D Chips in Software... probably only Voodoo 1, though, I guess... - MIPS R3000 Emulation... wasn't the R3000 the CPU the N64 used ?
Well, I guess in a few months we might see PSX/N64/Saturn Emulations in MAME/MESS, *maybe* :)
Would be cool ...
But so... no wonder that things grow bigger... speed was not that great, though... just around 40 fps on an AmigaOne... but it is no news that every new MAME version goes slower :((( I have to admit though that I use xMAME SDL as a basis, and I heard the Video Code for SDL of xMAME is slower than the X11 Display Code of XMAME. I did not find any time to look at the display code in detail if there is something optimizable... was just a little "weekend project" (on Weekends I sometimes have to take a break and do something - different :) ) to get MAME running at all, as I like it a lot too...
Also got WarpSNES running, BTW :) And some other emulators...

| The more systems the better.
I love emus. run them all the time on my X-Box. More then the games made for it actualy
I hope more ports will come in the future when the OS is out.

| I surely hope so - and actually expect it. Surely when the SDK is out more people will recompile their stuff. What I personally would find cool if someone compiled UAE... I just never had a look at that emulator before, so I left that for someone else to do :) (Also I personally do not like it if they come with complicated configure-scripts... I prefer it when they are with some nice little makefiles which are easy understandable :) And UAE is one of those monster-configure-file things...)
