The Chillingham Arms is in Heaton (the posh end of Newcastle ). The pub is right outside Chillingham Road metro station, just a couple of stops from the centre of Newcastle.

Although entry is FREE, you will need to bring your own beer tokens (I think they call them 'pound coins' in the south).

Looking forward to it already, looks like we (fellow SEAL member and others) will be coming up on the Friday evening to have a few jars and a curry

Any suggestions for cheap hotels in area to stay at?

@ Sicky,

I would let you all crash on my floor.. but alas I live in a tiny pokey flat. I will find out tommorow - there are plenty of places up here.

I've been up here for about 18 months and I have yet to find a good curry house - (maybe thats cos Welsh Curries are the best in the world ) but again - I'll ask about.

There are a loads of hotels and guesthouses in the city centre (if you're planning a night out it's a good idea - public transport doesn't run after midnight) - try here. If you do stay in the city centre there's quite a nice curry house called Saque on Dean St.

Erm, let me think about this, Curry, Beer, OK that's me sold, see you there folks

I might travel up there on Friday and stay over somewhere, it means a bit less traveling all in one day !

Edit:

OK, It's confirmed, the hotel is booked, no backing out now

Does anyone have a postcode for the venue, so we can look it up on StreetMap/RAC etc?

Looking forward to the show :)

TIA

Robert

OK, who's staying at the CHIRTON HOUSE HOTEL for £26110 ? For 26 thousand pounds a night I'd want some pretty good room service

I sure hope that is a misprint !

I'm staying at the Comfort Inn in Jesmond (booked though works booking agent to save me the hassle or ringing round hotels) Hopefully that's not too far away, it's closer to the venue than Preston at any rate
