News   News : AmigaShare.com in Test Mode
posted by choochy on 24-Apr-2004 20:42:59 (2400 reads)
As at 25 April, the AmigaShare website has been released to a select number of Amigans for testing the Phase I functionality.

The test period will conclude on 30 April. Then, on 1 May, the site will have its official release to the entire community. Meanwhile, AmigaShare is now available for all to view in a 'limited functionality and access' mode.

"We are excited by what we are hearing within the Amiga community and the positive emails we have received. It?s obvious everyone understands what we are trying to achieve and our focus on the new OS4 technology. Mostly, we are looking forward to getting feedback on the website itself and using this phase I to set the direction for its evolution. So, please come visit us soon.", says Chris Nillissen, co-founder of AmigaShare.com.

Regards,

The AmigaShare Team

A nice easy and simple "feel" to it now...

The "About Us" section reveals a very impressive sounding team as well.

Look forward to more........

Simple and nice looking.

I see a white zone in the upper bar (white->red). Probabbly a missed image? Try to check the website with a higher resolution tha 1024x768, like 1280x1024.

Dude, try to validate the source with http://validator.w3.org/.

And seriously, DO NOT USE FONT-TAGS AND CSS AT THE SAME TIME.

Thank you for listening.

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

I love the look on the site! Pure "Amiga" feeling. Lovely!

Is AmigaShare supposed to be the next Aminet? I think a lot of old Amigans will look at Aminet for OS4 stuff.

OT: Btw. What's the deal with Aminet these days, will we continue to mix Classic binaries with PowerUP/WarpUP and OS4 and even MorphOS binaries.. It's quite annoying to find what you're looking for just to see that it's for another platform.

Hey! Why not include MacOS binaries while we're at it

Dude, why would you use font tags at all in this day and age? I mean, surely there is a CSS capable browser on just about every platform by now?
