And if I'm not mistaken there's a new "easteregg" on the first page.

@Eric_S

Yeah, but who is it??

@the author of the instructions...

Nice coherent guide; it all seems pretty straightforward to me...

I love the "Yes, of course" requestor! Makes it feel a lot more like a fun experience

Good installer guide. Looks easy enough. Even I could install OS4.

Just had a read through the install guide and noticed that you never have to directly select which graphics card you're using...

Clever OS-Prerelease...

Nice !, Goodbye Penguin, it's been nice knowing you (NOT!)

After reading the instructions, I have now set up a TFTP server to make it easy to update the UBoot.

The instructions look very good, I've got my laptop next to the A1 so I can follow the instructions on that at the same time as setting up the A1.

I'm all set up and ready to go as soon as the CD arrives

I just installed Debian on my x86...
Everything works better (gfx, sound etc.), than on the Win98 that also is residing on the same harddrive, so it is more like goodbye winblows, hello Tux and OS4.

@AmigaOneProductions

I'm a little fuzzy on the whole TFTP thing.

Is it just setting up an FTP server on a computer that requires no password to access?

Cos it would be a lot easier than burning a CD. (I have burned updated CD's twice in the past, and each time I forgot to write down the XCDRoast settings!!!)

Cheers

Rassilon

Not quite TFTP and FTP are different protocols

You need a TFTP server program running on your server machine.

I found a very good, easy to set up one for PC at : http://www.solarwinds.net/Tools/Free_tools/TFTP_Server/download.htm

And even better, it's completly FREE

All you will then need to do once installed is copy the updater image to the TFTP dirrectory on your server and your A1 will be able to see it.

Is the new installation guide different from the one which is inside
the pre-release cd??
Anything we should pay attention to?? or we can just use the
guide of the cdrom??

Thanks
Francesco

I dont see why it would be different to the one on the CD - but best wait to hear from the powers that be.

I agree with the The_Editor - instruction how to set up a dual boot system would be extremely welcome.

Not all of us want to get rid of Linux when the OS4 pre-release arrives (no. really)

Another question - will the guide be available in some easy-to-print form like pdf? I'd like to make a paper print of instructions as it is IMHO more comfortable to read that - and it becomes handy to keep the instructions on the table next to you when going through the installation
