Announcement   Announcement : IntuitionBase.com update
   posted by Ryu on 1-Jun-2004 0:21:18 (2982 reads)
www.IntuitionBase.com update:

Thanks to Elwood I am now able to provide a much more comprehensive UBoot guide, please browse over to here and take a look.

Update: Thanks to Tony Wyatt I am now also able to provide you with a pre-release installtion FAQ which can be found here

The FAQ ties in nicely with Carl's Install guide which you can find here

Now all we (or rather you) need is the pre-release to arrive in our hands

Also IntuitionBase.com is now the new home to JaXanim's excellent WaveGuide lightwave site which can be found here

More updates/announcements to follow shortly.

Seems like a good guide and summary of all the information on Uboot that can be found in different places around the net.

Nice work guys .

BTW, just one small question, can I edit an entry I made in the "cpmpatible hardware section"? Or do I have to email the webmaster?

Cheers

If theres a problem please get in touch.

Is it just my machine or are others the same-- the "ver" command in uboot gives invalid command error "version" gives me the version of uboot which happens to be the sept uboot.

Oh. Strange. I thought all Uboot were the same... Try again when you'll have the Uboot version on the pre-release CD...

In the latest version (on mine), both "ver" and "version" give the correct response.

Please clarify:

From the FAQ:

Quote:
If you want to be able to remove the drive and use it in another Amiga (like a Classic), you will have to save the new FastFileSystem in the RDB of the drive. This is not necessary (or desirable) for the boot drive on an AmigaOne. Note that it must be a 68k version of the FFS, not a PPC version.

Does that mean, that a 68k version of FFS2 will come with the OS4 Developer Prerelease that can be used on Classic 68k (only) Machines?

@tonyw
In which case, all these instructions which say "ver" should be modified to say "version".

@Ryu
Fab!

From: going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

That site is starting to look really, really good! Comprehensive, informative, and even a bit funny in some places.

But what's wrong with yellow snow? It's sure got a richer flavour than the white variety...

Elwood, why did you cut the help message for "boota" ?
Ok, it might not look too professional (sic!) but there was some important information.
