Miscellaneous News   Miscellaneous News : Printable install guide for OS4 Pre-Release
posted by gemini on 7-Jun-2004 16:11:05 (3032 reads)
For all you lucky people out there who have their copy of OS4 Pre-Release for their AmigaONE, you can now download and print out the OS4 installation instructions. The PDF contains all the information from the OS4.co.uk website, but in a way that will print nicely.

So if you don't have a second computer to look at the install guide with, or just want a printed copy for your records, then download this PDF guide!

The guide is designed to be printed on both sides of the paper, thus saving you wasting paper.

Download PDF: HERE! (1.75Mb) (Negative uboot gfx version)

The original file is also HERE!

I think I've read it enough times that the instructions are imprinted on my brain! But I'll print it out anyway for when I do the install.

Great job!

Just a quick note; you may want to inverse the black and white images of the UBoot menus as it may save on ink for us with ink jets.

Just a thought.

@Bean

Good idea, I am now uploading a second version (identical except the Uboot images are now black text on white), should be up in about 5 minutes (about 9.05pm GMT)

If one of the moderators could update the news to include this file, cheers!!

@ ajs
Looks like we had the same idea! 46 pages on an old inkjet? No thanks!
Only problem was that none of the printers I had access to would print Postscript, no matter which version I used. Had to spool every page as an image, so even on the high-capacity Xerox, it took over thirty minutes to print the thing!

Leave out pages-
2
4
14
16
20
24
36
. . . and now you're down to 39 pages!

If, like me, you miss 5 of THOSE; don't forget to invert those for recycling. You'll only have
"AmigaOS4.0 Install Guide", & a page number, on one side!

Still, a thank-you to Gemini.
