if two images with the same name are stored in each drawer, the image from SYS:Prefs/Presets/images/ will be used.

Shouldn't the custom (Storage/images/*) images be used in this case ?
I think if the user installs his own images then his intention is to use them instead of the default ones ?
Maybe I'm getting something wrong here...

The intention of AISS is to to provide a stock of images in the same design and style.
This stock will permanently grow.

If you want a different image theme (e.g. Lorraine Design, Icon Designer, NewIcons, MWB) it would be easy to change. Just copy them to SYS:Prefs/Presets/Images/ and all tools will access them.

It also would also be easier to maintain and expand the image library. If you find out that an image of your fafourit design is missing you can easily find out which image is missing and contact the autor of the toolbar set and ask for a new one!

A great idea, this should be an official part of AmigaOS. I take it these are to be used with speedbars, but also available for any other kind of toolbar, like MUI, DOpus5 or others to use. I love that thanks to you the Amiga has an up to date, consistent and user friendly look that reflects the Amiga's colorful spirit.

My only concern here is I think the directory choices are a little inconsistent, and it seems unnecessary to create yet another standard Assign location.

There's already SYS:Classes/Images (admittedly not for bitmaps but for BOOPSI image classes) and while Prefs/Presets/Images is not particular contentious, Storage/ is traditionally used just for devs related storage. A better place would be wherever OS4's built in visualprefs stores it's images I guess. Anyone know where that is!

Ideally, something like this should be supported directly in speedbar.gadget or in a separate image subclass designed to be used by speedbar et al. Simply pass it a define for e.g. COPY images and it renders the user's preference whatever that is.
