Events   Events : New URL for nbache's website + new AmiGBG pics
posted by nbache on 15-Jun-2004 23:14:12 (1954 reads)
In case anybody has noticed, my site with pictures from various Amiga shows has been unreachable for some time.

I have now found a more permanent home for it, and also taken the opportunity to buy my own domain name, so the URL will be even more permanent.

http://nbache.dk/

Plain and simple, no?

(You can add the three w's if you absolutely must, it works with or without them ).

And to celebrate the new URL and site, and just in time for this weekend's Swedish parties, I have also finally added a section with my pictures from AmiGBG 2004. Link at the bottom of the main page.

NOTE: For the time being, the server I'm on is somewhat low on bandwidth. Please have patience; don't all come rushing in at the same time and expect wonders. Things are supposed to improve later on, I'm told by my friendly sysadmin.

Now enjoy!

Niels

... reminds me of the dark characters in Dark City!

Plain and simple, yess?

Interesting pics, though when I clicked the preview for Pic11, my eyes where tricked, I was expecting a boat!

Nice pictures! Also good to finally being able to connect some of the faces to names and vice versa. Thanks!

Well, you got one. In fact, you got more than one. I can see at least three.

But I see what you mean. Funny how our eyes behave sometimes.

Best regards,

Niels

Yes, that is in fact my main incentive. I always have a hard time remembering names, and having a way to connect them with faces is a great help.

Which is also why I am grateful for any corrections and additional information you guys can give me. I'll update the texts along the way with whatever I get.

Best regards,

Niels

Plain and simple indeed, I like it. Also, I can see that you have put alot of work into the writing, nbache. Nice job!

However, the left hand frame with the thumbnails really needs a fixed width. I hate to sound like I'm nitpicking, but I really don't like horizontal scrolling in frames.

You've got a point there. My choice of 15% for the left column was made in times where screen resolutions were smaller, and where I generally also scanned my pictures in smaller sizes.

I'll have to do some experimenting to see what a fixed width will do to the user-friendliness in various resolutions.

Thanks for the suggestion!

BTW, @all: Actually the "Plain and simple" was meant about the URL, not the page design . But I'm glad you find the pages plain and simple as well.

Best regards,

Niels
