Please be aware that this version of Quake 'might' require a newer version of Elf.Library.kmod than the one supplied on the Pre-CD. There are crashes that are suspected to be caused by the older Elf.Library.

We're sorry for the trouble.

@Severin

Gah! Oh well I guess we'll have to wait for the OS4 update then.

Good to see all these programs turning up!

What does elf.library do? is it like the "ELF binary format support" option in the Linux kernel or does it do something else as well?

While on the subject... I heard that AmigaOS ELF binaries cannot be completely stripped because of the way the amigaos dynamic library system works. If I run "strip" on a program, what information is left? I'm guessing unlinked function names (for library support), but what else? The reason I'm asking is because I once wrote a library that implemented reflection for COFF binaries, and I needed a special linker script to preserve partial symbol information. That partial linking seems like what I've heard about AmigaOS ELF binaries, so I was wondering if I could rewrite my program for AmigaOS ELF.

What are the requirements?

Only the original id wad files? Does it run with the clickboom cd? A readme or an "how to" will be wellcome

Anyway it crash for me, probably it needs that library.

Just install the clickboom version and replace the Quake executable with the QuakeOS4 one...

A new download has been placed on the download page which is a copy of the executable which works on OS4pre.

Enjoy.......

Anyone manage to get this working? I tried but it kept crashing, sometimes it would load the screen othertimes just crash, on 320x240 (might of been 256) it loads but the screen goes flying around the monitor so cannot play or do anything else.

I have an original Quake from clickboom but dont have the serial number anymore (lost it) so cannot install from cd, instead I just copied the id1 directory and was hoping it would work from there.

Hope someone can help.

Neither the new (old) version works for me. I'll wait for the new elf-library

It works alright here.

I have to run the game by setting -ip bvut it works (Most times). I just use -ip 0.0.0.0 & it's up.

Doesn't like to be quit though.

Malice & QuakeBattleChess run fine.

"Timedemo demo1" at 320*240 end up around 72fps (Nice) at 640*480 iirc, it's around 47fps & this is without PPC P96. Even 1280*1024 is faster & perfecly playable (Faster than my B1260/50 at 320*240).

I do miss the ClickBoom conversion though. The Amiga menus were great & I miss FreeLook in the Options menu BIG TIME!

Great to see though. Can't wait to get my mitts on the OS4 natives of Freespace & Heretic 2 now. You can see the potential just here.

FuZion.
