@ DaveyD

If the ID Number will be available, may I have " 2040 " as my User ID number ? This is how I call my 2000. I earned my life with her.

Good memorial for me.

@ikir
There's no point filling the database with unused accounts, I think it's highly likely that anyone that hasnt logged in for 12 months or more isnt going to login again.

@turkamigaman
I see what I can do

It is anyway a list/archive of the users of AW.

@ikir

Yeah, actually I wish more places did that. I don't want stale accounts spread across the internet at places I no longer visit for whatever reason.

The user table is actually the second most accessed table in any XOOPS system
so freeing up rows in the table will give a significant performance boost to the site.

We need a special bodie table to optimise the site

You probably want a federation of Oracle servers to handle bodie type accounts.

Hi DaveyD,

Are you going to save all the nicks/e-mail addresses in a file?

I think that an e-mail should be sent to all of them when Micro-AmigaOne, and AOS4.0 are finally released. (That IS why they showed an interest intially when the registered.)

AmigaOne! AOS4.0! Forget-me-nots.

might be a bit of a silly question, but ive never thought about it before... but is there or does the data protection act cover internet sites and the like? Do sites holding person information need to register with the data protection agency and the like?

I wouldnt imagine AmigaWorld does because it doesnt hold that much personal info, but for sites that hold addresses and the such, shouldnt they be monitored in some respect?

Anyone got any ideas?

@Ryu

I think sites protect themselves by making the users agree to the terms and conditions when they enter

@DaveP

I've always wondered how much of AW.net was customized, and who does it - for instance, when I last played with xoops, I don't recall there bing a photo gallery block/feature thingy, or the radio schedule stuff, etc.

Does xoops work with postgres properly yet? How often do you update the xoops code?

Just curious

BTW: I did apt-get install gforge the other day... I couldn't believe it... 2 hours later (fiddling with LDAP nonsense), I had a gforge server! (a project aiming to be a successor to sourceforge).
