As pointed out by HMK within our forums, AmigaOS4 beta-tester Crisot has made another one of his unofficial AmigaOS4 demonstration videos available. This time he demonstrates AmigaOS4's default movie player MooVId.

Crisot I love your videos !!!
Maybe it's because they come from an ex-Peg user

BTW: Anyone know if there's anyone doing an OS4 native version of AWeb 3.5??

Yes, work is being done on an OS4 native version, although there are no releases or anything like that yet.

Any new features planned for the OS4 version, or is it a plain port of the 3.x sources?

Currently, it'll be a plain port, but one could imagine some kind of interaction with AmiDock. There is still some trouble with compiling and source adaption techniques, and I can't really give an estimate on when we'll be seeing the first OS4 native build. Until then, you'll have to settle for the 68k version under OS4.

It's the philosophy that each version of AWeb available for it's specific platform should take advantage of whatever the platform offers, whether it's some special features under MorphOS or special resources under OS4. It's up to the coders for each respective platform to incorporate such functionality, if they can/want to.

It's also the philosophy that AWeb should be able to compile anywhere GCC exists, so we have as much freedom as possible to develop AWeb. Therefore we can compile AWeb under Linux, AmigaOS3.x and MacOSX. Of course OS4 will naturally follow as well as MorphOS. It's this compile-everywhere process that is part of getting AWeb to OS4.

Wasn't my intention to bring this completely off topic by asking about Aweb, was just curious.

Holy crap! The response time is absolutely ridiculous fast! Unbelivelable. Actually quite believable...nice to see a real multi-tasking OS in action!

As I sit here and wonder why I can't type into this text box using Internet Explorer at the same time while downloading email with Outlook on a 2.4gh P4 running XP with 1 gig of RAM!

OS4-Developers...you guys ROCK!

I am not sure what to do about the A1 shortage, but that is my problem for being a laggard I guess.
