| Good or bad?
I guess it's good, they allready had OS4, so a brighter future regarding DE-player for OS4 etc. Did he mention when this happened?
A year ago as with OS4? _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff!

| Interesting! Although I have to admit not that big of a surprise. Just out of idle curiosity I wonder who they hired from AInc and who they didn't. And now that KMOS owns DE will they still do the port of DE to Pegasos? I'm really curious as to the state of that goofy law suit. Interesting times ahead for us all methinks. Especially if we get that laptop! :o) Kay |

Yes, the law suit has been settled. DE can be run on the Pegasos, but they will not have any rights to the DE. I know at this point that Bill and Fleecy are on the Amiga.inc staff. Garry thought that a laptop would be cool . . . |

| Ok ok I just woke up (the lazy one) and I still can't believe it, KMOS now acquired Amiga INC. Well, it could seem unexpected but, after that they acquired AmigaOS and trademarks something made me believe in some other important step for the future, like this one. Maybe this means more money and more energy for the future AmigaOne project,s who knows, I can only say one thing right now:
Welcome aboard for the second time guys, good luck!!! _________________ The Heavy Metal Crew, a new metal community online!!!

| I seems to me to be a good thing that 'Amiga' and 'AmigaOS' are under the same umbrella anyway... There's one thing that can be said for Garry Hare, and that's that he certainly makes things happen (it seems).

It sounds interesting, to say the least. It'll be very interesting to see where this leads. Hopefully to great things for all of us. I wish all of them the best of luck with their endeavours! _________________

I believe Gary said the deal was completed a few days ago.
Spent a lot of hours waiting to hear what he had to say. But I think he is the one that can lead us through , what appears to be a mine field, to make the Amiga a viable system again. Let's hope so.
I was very concerned about the silence coming from AmigaInc and the CAM etc. This news explains a great deal.
I'm very encouraged. _________________

| Well, time will tell, I suppose. I have stopped trying to scrye the future when it comes to the mother companies of Amiga.
So far KMOS sure has upheld the "silent" stance of old AInc. It's going to be interesting to see if something will actually begin to happen. The T-shirts issue to be finally settled would be a good start... . SlimJim |

Exactly. But AInc has said as much a few times too. Let's hope that they actually appear this time. (holding thumbs) . SlimJim |

Why?
AmigaDE development doesn't affect AmigaOS one. _________________ ikir

Why not? It's an existing product, and should be placed properly into the market. It had a small start, but with the right company backing it, there is no reason that it cannot become the crown jewel. Just remember, if they bring out AmigaDE for OS4, you would instantly have Java and a lot more available to the OS4 environment. And if it helps to bring attention to our platform again, then all the better.
On a side note, I've moved into a new house, so I hope that they don't send the T-shirt to my old address... time to send an email to someone... |

| I just have a bad feeling over it. It reminds me all of those announcements AInc. made to try to convince everybody to switch platform to DE or Intent while dumping AmigaOS at the same time. Companies normally don't care about the users and this platform wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for us so I got very pissed with that. I still think today that the only reason that they allowed Hyperion to make OS4 was becase they saw most people didn' want to make the switch...
But ok, I guess I'm talking ahead of time, let's see what this brings.... _________________
