| WinUAE is GPL. It would be very hard to stop it being free, since to change its licence would require the permission of ALL the contributors... thats just not going to happen.
Even if it did happen (which it won't), someone could just start a new branch from the last available source.

| Is anyone else having trouble with P96 with this release of WinUAE? When ever I go into the screen prefs as soon as i click on a p96 mode the screen prefs crash.

Perhaps it's the way "public" is being used that is confusing. It might be easier to think of "public" beta as 'external' beta. In other words, WinUAE 0.9.90 is an 'external' beta for public consumption, where as 0.9.89 (if it ever existed) was a 'private', 'internal' beta.

| In terms of compatibility with old games (which is all I use UAE for and probably what it's main use will be in OS4) this is the best version yet.
I'm really impressed. I've never got so much stuff working before without having to tweak any settings. I like the new window interface too!

I'll check when I get home, but I don't recall having that trouble. I did find however that it doesn't seem to like appending to files when using folders on Windows Filesystem for harddrives, whereas it used to be ok. I have had to edit a few arexx scripts now to use T: instead of SYS: as a temporary place to join files on.

Hmm... I guess you could say that my explanation does reveal the semantic vagueries/shades of the English langauge... Though that wasn't my intention when I wrote it.
