| Hehe, great joke with the business card. Just watch out for Bill Buck, you'll end up all over the news now. _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

Hmmm, . . . maybe. I guess that I could sent one his way, if he would like one? |

No, its more a case of Spartacus = CEO . . . In the context of the movie, when the Roman armies defeat the make-shift army of excaped slaves -- their General seeks Spartacus to execute him. Not knowing what he looks like; he asks, "who is Spartacus?"
Before Sparticus can step forward, a skinny old man steps forward, saying, "I'm Sparticus!"
Whereupon just about every captured slave within earshot steps forward, and says, "I'm Sparticus!"
Frustrated, the Roman general crucifies them all alongside the road leading back to Rome.
(( note: The movie is a dramatization of the story of the revolt of Roman slaves that was led by Sparticus, a gladiator. It took THREE Roman armies to defeat them after they failed to escape Italy via a seaport in the south. The movie was made by Stanley Kubrick. )) _________________ -vortexau, who's A1 XE-G4 remains at half-RAM ! A2000HD (from 1991) 060 64Mb PicassoII with OS3.5 . . . still working.

From Historical Background for Spartacus
Quote:
when the revolt was at its height and Spartacus had about 120,000 followers |
Quote:
The courage, tenacity, and ability of the Thracian gladiator who held Roman forces at bay for some two years and built a handful of followers into an assemblage of over 120,000 men can only inspire admiration. |
Quote:
Spartacus subsequently defeated two forces of legionary cohorts ... but the Gauls and Germans ... wanted to stay and plunder |
Quote:
The Gauls and Germans, separated from Spartacus, were defeated by Publicola |
Quote:
Spartacus defeated the proconsul of Cisalpine Gaul at Mutina. The Alps were now open to the rebels, but again the Gauls and Germans refused to go |
Quote:
Spartacus started north; some of the Gauls and Germans separated from him and were nearly defeated by Crassus before Spartacus rescued them |
The problem seem to have been one of maintaining discipline in a multinational force - some things never change! |

Ah, that for explaining that. It does seems like the movie is very fitting. Now be reading the comments, I do recall the history of the slave against Rome I think for this coming weekend I will go to my DVD store and look for movie. |

| I spent a little time talking to Warren but realized stupidly that we never introduced ourselves....doh!
Those two Pegasos guys were Steve Hodson (me) and Paul Rezendes...
I wish I'd seen Warren's Hollywood presentation....it is indeed a good app, fast becoming a great one. I especially like the way it can compile a presentation into native code.

If you would like I could send it to you??? If you would like to see it PM me. It is not a really great thing to see . . . I did it to show "What" Hollywood could do. I agree it is a great program and I look forward to seeing it developed. Andreas Falkenhahn has done a great job in bringing out a new program. He was also a big help in helping me getting my presentation ready for the show. |

| Spartius's mob had the chance to duck out and run North but HE chose to go South and you know the rest of the story! (and I believe his body was never found after the climatic battle, hence what the hell we crucify everybody just in case by the Romans)

| Warren,
thanks for the presentation, a good oldschool PowerPoint style thing...I liked what you did with the MODS. In fact I hadn't even know Hollywood could play MODs.
Thanks....I bet you're looking forward to the OS4 PPC Native version of Hollywood?
