This news is pretty old... I grabbed Superfrog, Alien Breed 92SE, and Project X SE a month or so ago from back to the roots!

@xeron

Well, back2roots only have the ADF's (unless I've missed something), which usually means cracked and buggy versions. The CAPS releases are originals with copyprotection etc. It's nice to finally see CAPS releases available to the public.

Is it possible to use IPF (CAPS) images with the OS4 version of UAE?

Yes. Download the 68k capsimage.device from the CAPS web site and install it in your DEVS: directory.

Cheers,

Beautiful! I bet lots of old software houses are willing to release old titles to the community!

Is Marcus Dyson still with Team17? (You know the editor of Amiga Format during the 1993 period)

@evilrich

Just got Alien Breed working using IPF (with E-UAE on OS4) . Must have done something stupid when I last tried.

I have set CPU speed to real, but is there any way to speed up loading times?

Awesome indeed. It would be cool to have Psygnosis do the same. Who made the Turrican series? I wouldn't mind playing those again either....so many possibilites my head is going to implode!

Factor 5 made the Turrican Games. They also have had them available to download from their website since about 1998. However, they lost the originals, so the only images available were/are cracked adfs. That I suppose could change if CAPS images were created and allowed to be used from their site.

I used a WHDLoad installer to play them on my Amiga, but the same install doesn't work under UAE sadly. The graphics and music both mess up, yet playing from an ADF is ok. Having said that the same thing happens to me for Pinball Illusions and Slam Tilt.

It seems Factor 5 managed to get their original masters again, so the ADFs are exact duplicates of the originals. They are downloadable provided you own the original of the game naturally.

No,

I'm here now: SPOnG

Still see Martyn Brown for Team 17, and three old T17 guys (Gavin Dodds, Gareth Edwards and Andrew Micklethwaite) work at SPOnG too.

Marcus
