Nothing will replace Amibench.
Amibench played a very important role in the Amiga community since it was launched.

God damn it, this community is falling apart and fast. I hope OS4 will change this, otherwise I might have to (cough) leave for Windows.

That is indeed sad news. I know that he's had a lot of trouble from
similar people in the past - obviously this one was the last straw.

I have a feeling AmiBench will be back up though, I don't know why.
The thing is, you've got to realise that there are idiots wherever you
go - and this kind of "give in" response is just what they want.
Their own lives are so incredibly sad and pointless that the only way
they can justify their lonliness is to endeavour to wreck other
people's enjoyment.

The internet really needs hard ways of being able to tell one person
from another, so that for example AmiBench could have a proper log in
site where every members needs to sign on to the database. Regardless
of the user name you choose, there should be a fool proof way of
identifying who you actually are. Then, people like this wouldn't be
able to operate - they'd simply be banned from the site at the first
sign of trouble.

Oh well, I hope AmiBench is back up very soon.

@amigaone

I agree, amibench is invaluable. I personally think it should continue, the seller has the responsiblilty of providing original software, not the fault of Amibench. Though maybe there should be some kind of disclaimer inlcuded in the sales of h/w s/w to be original.

I dunno, just a thought, I think Amibench should continue...and I ask that all you people that use it write an email supporting mark and let him know how important it is to keep it alive.

Don`t let it disappear without a fight!

If amibench doesn't start up again, then someone else will run their own amibench type website
