Software News   Software News : New version of Feelin
posted by Gofromiel on 18-Dec-2004 7:53:27 (3417 reads)
Feelin 041218 (08.00) is out !!
Major update

Feelin is a new object-oriented system (OOS) for the AmigaOS. It provides two things : A small shared library, fast and powerful (the object-system's core), offering everything needed to create a complete object-oriented environnement ; And an extensible system to create and maintain GUIs. Although Feelin comes with a lot of GUI oriented classes, Feelin is not limited to that, and can be used for a variety of projects. Nothing, in Feelin, is static.

* XML files support to create applications (called XMLApplications). Applications can be generated on the fly with notify support, object export, data import...

* Preferences, and particuliarly the update mechanism, have been completely rewritten. Many new Pop classes have also been added (especially the awaited FC_PopFont). A lot of preference groups have been widely enhanced.

* Servers are no longer supported, they were a trouble than a solution. They are replaced by a muchmore convenient concept : shared objects (FC_AppServer is now a shared object).

* Dynamic layout adjustement has been improved further : listview's prop are hidden automatically when they are useless... updates are cleaner (only modified objects are redrawn)

* Disabled state is now fully supported (with a customizable color scheme)...

and as always many more... Give Feelin a Try !

Great news!!

I've been waiting to try that one... downloading now.

Sure hopes it makes better GUIs than its website the low contrast makes the pages very hard to read!

i must say its very cool 10 out of 10
i imagine AmigaOS Applications with this SeXy outlet could pull some new comers
to amiga World which AmigaOS Basic GUInterface Puts People off.
I have tryed & works just fine but couple crashes on exit. Problems with freeing reserved mem blocks maybe & i'm sure it will be fixed soon.

keeeep uuuup nice Work..

@serk118

Yep unable to even start it on OS40, there are some bugs that needs fixing,
Grim only show that crash is some where in the interpreter so no proper stack trace.

It runs here with OS4 but I did have to click "Ignore" for a few GR warnings, though I was able to try each exe in the archive.

I don't fully grasp its portential just yet but it looks nice!

We need a PPC version now
