| For amiga emulation the humble floppy will still have to be supported in some way.
Floppy drives rule! 
Hell, most of the miggy market still relies on floppies, can`t do away with them so easily

| Much as I am starting hate floppies now, they still need to exist for Amiga emulation as something like 80% maybe more of Amiga software comes on those little fragile expensive things!

| i wish i could throw disks in the bin but i can't as i need them to fix my miggy if she dies for some reason.
I would happly go without if i could.

| While the disks are tiny and take up loads of space and have a habit of dying, there is always a use for them if only for installing windows on your machine after it throws a wobbly and dies
There is also the transfer of smaller files between machines that have no hd bay, no burner, no USB etc etc. Admittedly most of us dont use them much these days, but there is always the odd occasion that you have to.
Just for the record, you cannot install Win98 in an 80GB HD without a floppy drive  The reason is it doesn't recognise the 80GB of drive space and you have to use a win ME emergency boot disk or 2000/XP cd to prep the darn drive to install the dumb OS.

| I think it's about time. Just a year or two ago I wouldn't have said so, but it's time. Reminds me, I guess I need to copy some of my Amiga DD disk to some other media if any of them still work.
