Will it fit in a uAOne?
If yes, I'll get one.

@AmigaClyde

Yes it would, if your case has space for it, and you dont have a card in your pci slot. In other words, the limitations lies not in the A1 but in the hardware around it.

Great news!
What's the status of the floppy drivers for OS4?

Can I put in my old floppy disk and do a "DMS read from cat-floppy0: to ram:old.dms" ?

Individual Computers possibly the most reliable company in the Amiga market. Produces what it says it will and not only that, the product works correctly as well.

Other Amiga companies please note.

While I applaud the development cycle that has allowed Individual Computer to develop MK4 their controller... drivers and support for MK3 and earlier versions seem to be seriously lacking
Windows drivers provided don't work with WinUAE ... er wtf? isn't that the only program on Windows that you would need a catweasel for?
Read http://www.winuae.net/cw.html to see what sort of rings and hoops you have to go through to get your catweasel working with Winuae... even then it doesn't work to expectations... First instructions ... don't install Windows drivers.. :-s wtf...

I may be talking through utter ignorance as their homepage gives you no indications on how to use the hardware, and with little other guidance than what the manufacturers deem they should provide to users I have found this to be just another PCI card sitting in my box of "not used computer equipment.."
Can anyone point me to a homepage or anything that might show me how to get some use out this thing?

And for those of you who have bought yourself an A1 with a catweasel... how to get your update working with the latest OS4 update... "first remove catweasel board..."

Catweasel MK3 - for me this has been a big waste of both time and money.....

@hairyneanderthal

It is possible to use a CW MK3 with WinUAE, I've done it. The community would be best to provide such guides, but it doesn't seem to happen much anymore. I once did a guide on how to use a Catweasel MK3 on Pegasos, and had a user submit a guide on how to use it with WinUAE. This guide never did get put online sadly, and the Anachronism site is going bye bye shortly..

Hi All...
Since seeing the above announcement on a maillist I've been to Individual Computers twice and the only mention I could find of the Mk4 was under the News link. The top Mk4 link was broken (no underline) and the second link was about a delay.

Where can I find out about the release?

TIA... Tony

Thanks Step. I'll check it out, as you the uAone comes with a very small
tower case.

@Tiny

If you look at the newsitem from 18.07.2004 you'll find technical data, or just click here.

That's because there is a bug in the OS4 kernel which the Catweasel helped to demonstrate. Sorry but I don't know when the fixed kernel will be released.

Please keep your expectations aligned with the reality of the situation. The A1 product (the entire h/w & s/w system) is still not finished. There will be more problems we haven't discovered yet. I have never recommended buying an A1 unless you fully understand what "unfinished product" really means.

Err, that got fixed *a long while ago*, and was in the last update IIRC.

Regards.
