| Great work. Finally i can listen to all IT, XM and S3M files that lies here on my HD since 1993 and upward. ;)
(Unfortunately when it comes to Modules, there are some incompatibility but i expect that it will be fixed in some update. (Try listening to some of Fajsers modules for example) )
Anyway, still great work. _________________ Life is fragile enough, why use windows on top of that?

It's MUI and it's very basic. Shows a playlist, has MUI buttons for volume, playing, pausing, stop, loading playlists, clearing, add files and so on. No fancy graphics. It does what it's supposed to do for a first version imho.

I wonder if it is possible to tap into AHI to create scopes/levelmeters etc directly. A docky showing some nice effects to represent the current audio output perhaps?

Yeah, perhaps that is possible. I did a similar hack with PlaySID where i just loaded the library (which was already in memory, so i got a pointer to it, then i found the offsets where audio-processing was done, and stole the parameters in realtime and created some scopes.
A scope docky would be neat, preferrably with alot of different settings. I mean for XM's and other multichannel mods, an option would be to mix them into two scopes or 4 scopes.
Good ideas. _________________ Life is fragile enough, why use windows on top of that?

| Judging from a quick Google, it seems to be a mod player of sorts: Quote:
UADE plays old Amiga tunes through UAE emulation and cloned m68k-assembler Eagleplayer API.
UADE is Open Source compatible with Free Software definition. UADE is licensed with GNU GPL. This software would not have been possible for us to produce without the great Free Software model which allowed us to make use of years of hard work of the UAE team. Most of the thanks goes to their pioneering work to build the necessary infrastructure, especially Bernd Schmidt, the initiator of UAE project.
The player infrastructure of UADE is built on the ground work of Eagleplayer and Delitracker projects. We want to mention few people from both projects. Jan Blumenthal and Henryk Richter from the Eagleplayer project; Peter Kunath, Frank Riffel and Florian Vorberger from Delitracker project; Those projects formed an infrastructure on which many different people produced reusable external players, thanks to them too. UADE makes these external players reusable on certain UNIX and other platforms.
UADE contains a free (as in freedom) implementation of Eagleplayer and Delitracker API for UNIX variants such as GNU/Linux (Alpha, AMD64 (x86-64), PA-RISC, PPC, Playstation2 and x86), Free/OpenBSD (x86), Solaris (sparc), Digital Alpha UNIX, IRIX (mips), Mac OS X (ppc), and for other OS variants such as MorphOS. It is designed to be run as an XMMS or a BEEP media player input plugin. A cmdline interface also exists. |

@jahc
Now we are just dreaming of some scopes too. |
Yes, some nice visual plugins would be great. I don't suppose MUI could be made to do skins, could it? I've also just found that Simpleplay will play audio tracks directly from CDs after a fashion. It tends to skip a little, but I guess that's to be expected as I assume it wasn't intended for this use. _________________ -- -=#Val#=- Valiant@Camelot

| I have a great idea, hopefully someone will follow it up:
How about a shared skin library? There are so many players now that use either reaction or mui, it would have been better if someone would create a library of functions any user could implement into their own apps/players. So that anyone could create their own "winamp" skins easily. _________________ If you need music for your productions, or graphics for your creations, feel free to contact me. also check out my music at http://www.contrazt.no/records.html

| I started work on a skin library. It took a series of images (using datatypes) and an xml file describing how they worked.
The program would query the skin library for the value associated with "Volume". It didn't need to know or care how the volume widget was implimented.
It didn't get much further than the planning stage, though, because other projects got my attention. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6

| Very nice. Any chance of adding xfdmaster.library support? Most of my modules are compressed with something-or-other.
Oh, and can you stop it auto-saving the file list and previous directory on exit - that's the sort of thing which really irritates me on Windows. Last edited by Chris_Y on 15-Mar-2005 at 08:11 PM.

| In order to add scopes or anything like that he'd have to pick through the source code to SDL_mixer. SDL is intended to be a game making set of libraries. It just happens that the sound engine plays several module formats and that is what Jahc used to make this music player.
It's just a simple hack. Not a dedicated piece of software.
Someday when SDL libraries get saved in a set of libraries we'll just use the same libraries for everything instead of having these 500+kbyte monsters floating around. Last edited by Samurai_Crow on 15-Mar-2005 at 10:16 PM.
