Software News   Software News : 10 year anniversary and new software releases by OnyxSoft
   posted by Deniil715 on 4-Apr-2005 12:04:45 (2273 reads)
OnyxSoft celebrates its 10 year anniversary in Amiga software development and releases two new programs and six updates!

New programs
Annotate v2.1 - (OS4) The old trustworthy text editor from 1993 by Doug Bakewell has been taken over by OnyxSoft. It has been ported to OS4 and has been given a bunch of new features and a couple of bugs fixed, but this is only the beginning.

UTF-8 v1.0 - (68k) This program makes it possible to type and write UTF-8 anywhere.

Updated programs
MPlayer-GUI v1.31 (OS4) A GUI for the OS4-version of MPlayer. Added a nice image and icon by Toaks. Fixed the memory leak, added some -vo/ao modes and made a list.

MultiRen v1.62 - (68k) Powerful file renamer and file comment editor and more. Minor update. Fixed a crash on exit on Classic.

AllKeys v1.1 - (OS4,MOS) Hotkey tool able to handle unnamend keys such as multimedia-keys. Added a few options and a MorphOS version.

DECH v1.46 - (68k) Deniil's E-Compiler Handler has got some minor enhancements to make it easier to switch between different compiler definitions/commandlines.

DRemind v1.68 - (68k) The reminder program DRemind has got a small update and a crash fixed when run under OS4.

TheMPegEncGUI v2.5 - (68k) Completely reworked the way the default parameters are handled! Added a bunch of settings for Lame and fixed a couple of bugs. This version was released as a beta a few month ago but I got no bug reports so I guess it's stable.

Enjoy!

Will be possible to add an html 4.01 highlight to it?

Thanks for this new MPlayer gui!

Man that MultiRen is a god send. Can't live without it.

Hay Deniil any chance of geting the file spliter program working under OS4? The rebuild part seems to work but the spliter part dosn't work at all.

@ikir

Syntax highlightning is on the todo-list but that implies a tremedes amount of work due to the way Ann is written and requires a total rewrite of the draw routines. You'll have to wait and see what happens in the future.

@paulsamiga

I updated JoinSplitter a couple of month ago and removed some hits which showed in OS4, but now it works perfectly for me.
What happens for you? Does it crash? If so, have you tried to press Ignore Errors? I have noticed that the GUI engine used (which I have no control over) may hit now and then (but not in JS what I've seen), but usually its enough to just press Continue an few times.

Deniil,

You make some great little (And useful) apps. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, FuZion.

MPlayer-GUI is fab, and TheMPegEncGUI is a godsend (what a ridiculously complicated program Lame is, I still have no idea what most of the switches do)

Suggestion for TheMPegEncGUI: Can you modify or add a new option to use freedb.library instead of cddb.library? cddb.library isn't developed any more, and I'd rather like to remove it from my system as the cddb-freedb wrapper doesn't work either.

I'll see what I can do. I'm converting the freedb includes to E right now.

It's probably better/easier to port some other newer text editor/ editor "engine" instead. Like Scintilla/SciTE which looks like being very portable and nice (well, execpt that it's written in stupid C++). It has some interesting features, too, like automatic folding creation (ie. in C you write a multi line commet or a { .... } block and it automatically creates a fold for the corresponding lines/block).

Or word expansion. Realtime! Ie. you type:

struct something
{
int one;
int two;
int three;
};

struct something s;

s.t[PRESS CTRL + RETURN]

and it presents you with a popup list where you can choose between "two" and "three".
