Too bad this couldn't have come sooner. I had already bought my stick of RAM from them in Dec 03.

But this is definitely a welcome sight! Crucial is a BIG name in the memory industry. For them to advertise here must mean they have had a good number of Amiga users buy their RAM, plus the fact there are so many non-Amiga users who frequent this site now.

Well done!

Rats, well I tried. I wanted to add ram to my compaq laptop that I have
running UAE, but their nice website informs me that I already have
the ram on my system maxxed out and can't add any more.

Nice job Davey.

@Toaks

Good question. Crucial probably does make some ram that will work with the A1's. We need to browse their site and see.

@Toaks

Well, i can see that they support the Genesis machines, so i
guess that ram will do for the A1? Does anybody know that?

Look in the pulldown "Select for a manufacturer".

I'm not much into hardware, but I wouldn't assume this so fast. Maybe some Pegasos/A1 user could comment on that? A1 uses DIMMs, right? Because Pegasos II uses DDRs.

@opi

I was not assuming, i was asking. You left out the
part "Does anybody know that?"

Btw. the ram for the peg1 on the site looks the same
as on my A1SE.

.

Yes, Pegasos I is very similar to A1 from what I have heard, so I guess the memory sticks will fit.

I think it would be better to have an A1 section on that site.

Something that could be done true the Devs and Eyetech maybe.

This is good news - nice to see the wider world coming "on board"!

Two questions, though - there's a "Scan my system" option, in order to determine what RAM is required... shame that this appears to only be for Windows machines. Perhaps some enterprising coder could develop an Amiga module for them?

Secondly, the box-out on the right of the main page says "What will it do for me?" - and compares system performance compared to a 128MB machine. Again, one presumes this is Windows? (Actually, my Win98SE can't access over 768MB - so the comparison is a bit off. Perhaps it should state the OS used?!)

I wonder if they'll update the site to reflect the Amiga if they get enough click-throughs from this site?

(Edit: Just had more of a browse around; there's a Mac-specific section, too - perhaps one day we'll see an Amiga section?)
