| felix made alot of nice efforts for Amiga in the past and therefor i guess that this is the reason for elwood to submit it as news but as soon as i saw this news item i where hoping they also had things like Ibrowse back in their system along with the other things.
anyway i wish felix the best of luck on his mac ventures. _________________ See my blog and collection website! . https://www.blog.amigaguru.com

| Because : - Amiga pages have moved - Felix will be able to talk about Amiga in the Mac community - Mac users that will look at his new product will see the Amiga name and they will know it's not dead.
I hope Felix will put some links to Amiga websites on his page. Last edited by elwood on 08-Apr-2005 at 02:34 PM.

| I wonder which technologies these are that are not available on OS 4. Anyway, since I don't own a Mac and also don't see a reason to buy one I won't have the opportunity to test the new stuff. Sad, I liked his former Amiga products. _________________ "Who do you think is this guy - god ?" "No, god knows mercy !"

| By technologies, I'me sure he means Aqua/cocoa- the UI interface and available widgets etc...not always a simple thing to port. Then there's also the fact that OS X is a POSIX complaint OS at it's core...which neither MOS nor AOS are.. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

| I just had a quick look at this app, and this is sweet.
Looks slick, way easy to use, can export in a variety of methods.
Roll your pointer over a thumbnail and it is enlarged for easy viewing.
Probably beats a lot of the simple competitors. Like iPhoto.
And the intro price can't be beat. Sure beats iView Multimedia, which costs like $250. And looks like it's a lot better than the iView Media that is bundled with Toast (Looks like an OSX app, they claim it is, but it ain't.)
OS4 needs apps like this. But due to the nature of OSX, it's a lot easier to do this on a Mac. Apple has taken a lot of the important features you need and incorporated them into the OS, making it very easy to write a program, without having to sweat the details.
Much like what the XPK libraries did for Amiga programs like Term. You didn't need to know all those protocols like Xmodem, you just used a library. If the user needed Kermit, he could add it. Or a terminal emulation mode, like VT100.
Sadly, it would take a lot of work to bring OS4 to this level. |

| People submit PC related news here, so no need to moan about one piece of Mac related news for a change, plus some Amiga users here may also use a Mac, and there are numerous mentions of Amiga in the article. _________________ Founder of NWAG - North West Amiga Group
