| Nice but we can do even better.
We just need someone (no, I'm not volunteering) to write down the instructions for booting OS4 via Ethernet. I did manage to boot the kernel via the network a while back. It should also be possible to boot the kernel and the workbench via the network with the latest slb IIRC. I think I had to point it at the kicklayout file and boota/slb handled the rest but my memory fails me. It was kinda neat booting OS4 from my OS3.9 box at the time.
With the new OS4 boot system design, all sorts of wonderful things are possible but I think most people just haven't noticed it yet. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

| I really do wish people would submit this sort of thing to IntuitionBase as an article.. _________________ Regards Darren 'Ryu' Glenn ---------------------------- www.IntuitionBase.com - Your Guide to Amiga OS4.x and the AmigaOne www.Bambi-Amiga.co.uk - My A1200 webserver, running 24/7/365

The web-page is just a "quickie" that I wipped up late one night, and didn't think it was polished enough for IntuitionBase (there are some tips that should be added; some testing to be done after updating UBoot). But, I do plan to get around to it in a week or two.

I got it from German www.amiga-news.de, sorry.
When I posted it AW I thought, probably it has already been posted in a forum, but didn't really checked with the search function. _________________ A computerworld without MS products and Windows! | @Ryu and JCC
I could make up a PDF file of the homepage to post on IntuitionBase, if allowed (JCC?) and wished (Ryu??). _________________ A computerworld without MS products and Windows! | the articles section is simple html formatting, like the page already has.. I can always sort out formatting of any article anyone wants to write for IntuitionBase... All I need is a text file of the article and images. The rest I'll do _________________ Regards Darren 'Ryu' Glenn ---------------------------- www.IntuitionBase.com - Your Guide to Amiga OS4.x and the AmigaOne www.Bambi-Amiga.co.uk - My A1200 webserver, running 24/7/365

| @Toaks,
well I had missed the threads so this was a good news item for me.
Anyone know of a LiveCD for Linux that runs on the A1?? Or a FAQ on how to make one?

| I tried that but it didn't work. On the created ISO, Nero says 2 - Mode CD-ROM 1, ISO 9660 can't write the track at the correct position with this recorder.
Any hints? _________________ Philippe 'Elwood' Ferrucci Sam460 1.10 Ghz AmigaOS 4 betatester Amiga Translator Organisation
