It can be downloaded now from either OS4Depot or A500.org.

This Sun/NeXT .au datatype currently supports the following encodings:
- 8-bit u-law/A-law
- 8, 16, 24 & 32-bit linear (PCM)
- IEEE Float (32 & 64-bit)

Thanks for the feedbacks.

If anyone can find a source for files in more obscure encodings that would be helpful (64-bit float, g72x, etc.). Same goes for .wav as well.

Check here for various formats.
Especially the 64-bit one is quite impressive, parallel speech (two actors) in
a rather small file.

Thanks. At least now I know the 64-bit float support is working. That said, loading the file into multiview (with datatype) seems to cause some serious instability problems . It hangs the system 100% (reboot still works though), no grim reaper no nothing. I'll try looking into this in more detail later (and try to fix it).

@salass: good work. It's also very nice to gesture to include source codes.

Do we have OGG datatype yet? What about music module datatypes?-) http://mikmod.raphnet.net/, LGPL.
