A friend of mine is registered to it IIRC. I keep sending updates to him even if he uses a PC now.
Keep updates coming !

That's pretty cool. I had no idea this even existed but it looks fairly fully featured. The screenshots show one of the most minging MUIs I've ever seen, but each to their own

(I'm more a fan of the basic AmigaOS4 look - adding thousands of window/border/gadget background patterns and borders usually ruins it IMO)

I've always used Money Matters, but it's so damned slow and clunky

Yeah, I finally got to try it out last night (I know, I submitted the news item but was at work at the time). One thing I found is the stack in the icon is not high enough for OS4! It DEFINITELY needs more than 8K of stack, as I saw some VERY strange things happen, then a GR followed shortly thereafter. After I set the stack to 64K, it ran fine.

It is definitely working better than before. I recall not being able to enter the amounts of transactions in the add/edit windows the last time I tried it. It does at least work, but it still has a small "quirk" with that amount field. Seems that it is supposed to automatically add a negative sign to it after entering the amount if it happens to be an Expense (as in the window already has Expense set in the gadget below the amount field). It won't do it unless I cycle the Expense/Income gadget to Income then back to Expense. Seems a tad annoying, as it will record it as Income instead of Expense if you don't do that.

It is definitely improving, though!

I'm going to use both it and AmiCheck (which works flawlessly under OS4 by the way) for a while to see how it does. I had switched to Homebank before getting the A1 a year ago when I was still running my old AmigaOS setup under WinUAE, but had to switch back to AmiCheck when I got OS4 because of the broken amount field.

@Dwolfman

Hmm, something interesting...

I found an old CD in my desk drawer here at work I made with WinUAE on it and a copy of my old OS3.9 install (in a reduced size hardfile) that I used to demonstrate AmigaOS to a co-worker about two years ago. Got it loaded back into my PC and gave the new Homebank a try.

The way the amount field works (as I described above) in this new version works the same way under OS3.9. Strange, as I was sure it had some strange problem in the previous one and that it worked differently than that between OS3.9 and OS4 as well as the older version worked differently than the way this one works now.

Ah well, now I just have to download the previous beta and see what that does.

Has anybody read the FAQ on the HomeBank homepage?

It looks like development for Amiga seems to stop slowly as the programmer is porting HomeBank to Linux!

There will definetely NO version for AOS4 or Morphos!!!

Let's hope that this version is stable and fast enough for my needs!

Can't we ask the author if someone from the OS4 community could
recompile it for OS4 and then give the sources back to him?

It would surely be great with more native software.
