Software News   Software News : OS4 sound datatype alpha replacement
   posted by Drule on 15-May-2005 15:18:09 (2920 reads)
Droolsoft Limited is please to announce an early preview of a replacement sound datatype for Amiga OS4.

It must be stressed (over and over) this is an alpha release which means it may cause some system instability and is provided on an "as-is" basis for those curious enough to try. Playback should ultimately allow 8,16, 24 and 32-bit samples of varying formats. Developer information will be released shortly.

@Samwel

Yes. My RIFF-WAVE and Sun AU datatypes both have to convert the sound data to 8-bit for sound.datatype.

@Drule

Good work. I haven't had time to test it yet though... It's good that the old 8-bit limitation doesn't exist anymore. I think I will fix my sound DTs to use your sound.datatype some time (I'm currently at work, so definitely not now). Also I see you've removed the max. 2 channels limitation which is good as well.
