Looks good! Much more neat and tidy than the massive Eyetech tower that my A1200 is (more or less) hacked into...

Shame that I don't use the machine enough to warrant buying one of these - although possibly one of these would make the machine easier to sell... hmm...

Looks good.
The custom back plate and mounting for busboard looks well thought out.

So, first I had to purchase a tower to use their mediator, and now I need to purchase another to use their Dragon? Right.

So they think there actually are people out there who have an untowered Amiga 1200 and want to spend money upgrading it? Someone needs to stop taking drugs here...

@olegil:

You can reuse your existing tower for the Dragon, as long as it's a Winner/Ebox1200/Power Tower or Mirage 1200 tower. If you however want a nicer looking tower than the older versions, then D-box is the right choice.

From the photographs I see that they have a Blizzard PPC in that tower, I wonder if they've applied to be a beta tester for OS4.

I wonder whats wrong with the Dragon card when Elbox always
show only a closeup on one part of the card not the whole card.
Prototype maybe?

@All

What is wrong with you guys? It is awesome what they are doing, they are actually spending their time and energy let us not forget their hard earned money to create us an awesome board such as the Dragon which beats 68060 many times to be honest and much cheaper than a 68060, with a cool sleek modern case designed for the Amiga 1200. I give them all an enormous thump up for their effort in giving magic back to the Amiga 1200. Now if you look at the price of the a new case with Dragon board, that cause an enormous expansion to an Amiga 1200 it would be the same price as an AmigaOne (almost). For people who love the 68k, love all the 68k applications rely heavily on the 68k application of the Amiga 1200 for wordprocessing, who also would love to watch movies in their Amiga 1200 this is an ideal thing. Think about it, some people and I could be wrong don't like the concept of PPC, don't believe an AmigaOne is a real Amiga, and love their 68k Amiga 1200 to the heart would find this a dream come true. They would be able to use their Amiga 1200 now to do everything they wanted to do that a normal modern person would do in their PC with the exception of course, modern 3D PC games and a latest browser.

Good work Elbox, I salute you.

great news. But my only concern is, I don't really want an old mobo (a1200) with a lot of new HW. what if the old mobo breaks down?

Was there something about the Dragon being able to run without tte a12900 mobo?

Any way, I love the design.

Elbox, keep up the good work

Looks great! If they come up trumps with the Dragon, I may seriously consider building a new A1200t. Had great fun with my old Power Tower, before i sold it to buy a PC ...... (that didn't last long), now use a Mac.

@Foody

Well said, that man!

It's a freedom of choice thing, and isn't that part of the reason we're all here, instead of the dark side?

Elbox have well and truly brought the classics into the 21st century. Let's hope they achieve this objective in full by allowing us to purchase the potentially awesome 'Shark'!

@ Olegil

And new A1's are in such huge stock.

To some the Dragon may be their only road to OS4. If towerizing my a1200 is the only way to operate os4 unless I prey to God I can score a relaible legacy PPC card on ebay... it may be my only option down the road. Make me happy Elbox

Not really. The Dragon is based on Coldfire and there will be no OS4 for Coldfire according to the Friedens previous posts.
