The new, stylish D-Box 1200 Amiga has today arrived at AmigaKit.com and is ready for distribution to UK customers.

If you are looking for a modern, spacious tower case for your Amiga 1200, this would be a god choice. It is engineered specifically for the 1200 and can accomodate various busboards. Dragon 1200, Mediator PCI 1200 SX, Mediator PCI 1200 LT4, Mediator PCI 1200, Mediator PCI 1200 LT2 and G-REX 1200. Note: Some busboards require an additional ATX-to-AT converter.

You gotta be kidden me!? You are not going to get it any cheaper dude, any cheaper they will be giving it away and it is not a fair thing to ask. I say it is an excellent price. It is a shame I don't intend to tower my Amiga 1200, I have no desire really not since I like it compact and keyboard case.

No problem!

BTW: I've opened a tower with the intention of displaying at the Big Bash 3 show and they look very good - metal design with a silver plastic front.

It has some nice touches like the custom silver 3.5" drive and CD facia.

The "D-Box" logo is a nice touch too - this is probably the nicest A1200 tower that has been released.

@amigakit:

Would it be too much to ask if you could post a few pictures of the internals of the tower? I know that Elbox have done so already, however I cannot clearly see from their pictures if they finally got rid of the horrible PowerTower led adapter solution and used direct connection from the leds to the motherboard pins this time.

That led power adapter was the worst thing about the PowerTower for A1200, imho. It basically stole the floppy power motherboard connector which is vital if you need to feed the system with more power. There were ways around this, of course, but the end result didn't look nice and clean.

@Amigakit

Can I second x56h34's request for additional photos? The tower looks really nice, but I'd like to see a few extra things:

* How the tower opens and closes (is the side panel screwed on? screwless?hinged?)
* What the rear panel looks like (with and without an A1200 in place)
* How the LED/Switch assembly connects up
* Whether an A1200 + Blizzard PPC + Bvision will fit
* Where the keyboard connector goes
* What other ports are available at the back (excluding the PCI/Zorro ones) - i.e. are there spaces for the PortPlus serial/parallel ports?

Also, do/can you stock the right-angle adapters for the PCMCIA? Ultra critical IMO!

@K0rky

Good man (and your wife!)

Ensure that you take lots of clear close pictures of the installation procedure...

What have you got to go in the tower - any accelerators, graphics cards, Zorro/PCI backplanes, etc.?
