Downloading now (Quicktime had better be able to play this - I've just spent enough time downlaoding stuff to play the dragable video), by the way, that's not a link

Woha [/Neo] @ the development boards and chip simulation boards.

Thanks guys ( Mr Herd, Mr Haynie ) for doing this, it's very much appreciated indeed.

Excuse me, have anyone gotten the email address from the video? I tried hard and unable to obtain the email address due to his speed when he mentioned it on the video, I just wanted to send them a million thanks for their beautiful work in creating Commodore 128 and the Amiga. Thanks in advance.

I had no issues playing it with Quicktime. It is, after all, an MPEG file.

Besides, it's better to download and watch later.

As to the email links mentioned, it's jersey.net. I'd try bherd@jersey.net.

Truly wonderful stuff. Pre-Amiga Commodore must have been one heck of a fun place to work

It's nice seeing some of the old machines again. I actually owned both a Sinclair ZX81 (the little back machine) and two Commodore +4s. One of them still sits under my bed, minus a PSU.

Not many people have read it, but one of the guys who worked at C= in those days wrote a book about it in 1986 called "The Home Computer Wars". It's long out of print, but there's a text version here. It has lots of interesting stories from Commodore's 8-bit days.

Great video!
I had a C128 mainly for CP/M+ and playing C64 games.
The CBM LCD was a first love when I saw it in the former Commodore mag (published by C=).
Apparently it had one of the best LCD displays at that time, completely develpped by C= engineers!
That was the time of the pocket computers (not to confuse with PDAs today), much more like the Tandy, or Sharp PC1500A (still have one). C= wanted to sell the HHC4 (HandHeld Computer) with printer. That was a rebranded pocket computer from Toshiba! I still have somewhere the letter from C= Germany, when I asked when the HHC4 would be delivered, I was told that the project was canceled due to a real laptop with integrated Office progs called LCD128, completely developed by C=.

I've just rechecked it, it still works for me.

Are you shure that you've got port 21 [FTP] open?

There is nothing wrong with the link. The FTP server at the other end might be busy, slashdotted by AmigaWorld readers.

I just clicked on the link in a mail message, and OS X knew what to do.

Awesome stuff for a hardware geek like me. I picked it up from the mirror
set up by Ryu ( thanks!). I couldn't get the file from zimmer.net. I wish the quality
was better. Trying to look at those protoboard details in 'pixel vision' is rough.
Maybe some one will have a DVD iso available soon, that would be even cooler.

@Terminator

Amiga.org uses a news-robot called "system", that checks the Internet for news.
That's why you weren't given any credit

My first computer was a C128, havent got it anymore though.
But still miss it sometimes.
