Software News   Software News : Mr Beanbag AGA Playable Demo out now!
posted by Toaks on 30-Aug-2005 0:39:52 (5569 reads)
Now do we have a treat for you all today? Yes. Yes we do. You can now download a single-level playable demo of Mr Beanbag in your choice of two formats:

This may be the first homebrewed game for classic Amiga's in quite a long time so make sure to try it out.

2 versions are available (only difference is floppy vs HDD)

http://www.glastonbridge.co.uk/mrbeanbag/demo/beandemo.zip 170k zipfile of the ADF of the disk of the demo (For use in E-UAE or simmilar), or

http://www.glastonbridge.co.uk/mrbeanbag/demo/beandemo.lha 159k LHA archive that you can extract to your Amiga's hard disk and run the way Commodore intended, if you're so inclined.

@Hondo_DK

Not "dudes", but rather "dudette" - i.e. not male, and not a group of coders!

Looks really impressive - screenshots are very reminiscent of some of the old-school platform games, but according to the thread over at amiga.org it uses extremely fast scroll routines, etc. Dying to get time to download it to try out!

Typically enough, however, one of the first questions that I saw asked was (hopefully with tongue in cheek, although there were no smilies) - "Will it work on my 1.3 A500?"... aaaarrrrgghhh!!!

Yay! Kickass game, I love Sonic and this certainly has lots of Sonic in it :)

Can't wait for the full version...

I'm downloading right now the demo!
My WinUAE will have 1 more game to emulate very soon if it's any good as it seems.

Yea. Cool! The code was fresh, but the GFX wasn't that great. This project would do with a dedicated graphician that has a bit more experience.

Looks very nice! Just my kind of game. I will definitely try it later.

About the graphics: I like them!

Alex.

It looks cute :)

Probably not the type of game I will play, but I might look into buying it anyway.

It seems well done - but I didn't like the "predictive camera", which looks up when I want to see the platforms below for guiding him down on to...
